Renault. Most likely not the livery they'll use. Look at the mirrors! That'll be the first thing that gets knocked off with just a little bit of contact!

Wow, what a different each team has on the nose. Yeah, I wonder what will happen to Renault's mirrors.

    Re: F1

The dawn of a new era. Sans Schumi...

New era maybe, but those cars very much look like an evolution from 2006 with their 'frozen' V8 designs...Yet, it will be very interesting to witness who will be the boss of the F1 Circus now, different line-ups, interesting newcomers ; the Bridgestone for everybody and the difficulties that Renault and others will have to adapt to them. Well, Fisi said it seems to suit his driving...

Ferrari, Renault and Mc Laren to fight for the title ? And behind ? Honda ? Toyota ? RBR or BMW ? The possible reshuffle of the balance of power will be intriguing during the first GPs !

So many interrogations to be answered when the very first podia are completed. What we can hope for is that the pre season uncertainty ends up giving shape to a great and undecided season with as many contenders as possible ! It's still time to dream in January !

Anyway, for the time being, let's enjoy those new types being unveiled while drivers and team directors are still allowed to hope for the better before the cold shower that the harsh and cold reality of GP racing can be hits them.

    Re: F1

Hanki made another thread on Zumper!, maybe I'll post some analysis there if I have time (read : if I happen to be less of a lazy bone).

Since not everybody is registered there and therefore won't participate, and since F1 is usually appealing to international football fans, discussions about the season may rather be on BS.

Anyway, for those who have an account or intend to have one, you can post there.

    Re: F1

An early - financial - blow to Renault's ambition : Telefonica, the Spanish telecom company has withdrawn its support to the French marque despite having said that their sponsorship would still run after Alonso's departure. The fact is they fear that the 2006 World Champion's association with Vodafone at McLaren might be too much of a competition...

More orange from the Dutch ING bank on the Renaults ? We shall see when the R27 is officially presented later this month.

Anyone plan to attend a grand prix this season? I have my tickets, flights, and room for the USGP. I was thinking of adding Nürberg, but probably won't.

    Re: F1

Maybe. Not likely as of today though. Would be a lot easier for me if the French GP took place in Le Mans !

A single seater is not really designed to look good but to be performant while complying with the formula rules. Yet, one can appreciate the F1 shapes and the details that give them some personality. I guess that the numerous winglets do not help the overall appearance though. The thing is technical directors don't really care...

Having seen several F1s quite closely in the past, it's true that Mc Laren has a level of detail in the cars they build that Williams -for instance - did not have.

    Mon Dieu...

    The new Renault R27...

I know there are marketing imperatives with your sponsors, but that's a bit much ! Too bad, the car itself is rather good looking.

The thing is there are too many colours in this clownesque livery. If they really have to keep the design, they should get rid of the navy blue or on the contrary put more of it at the back to balance things.

Anyway, as it is now : Yuck !!

Bah, maybe we'll get used to it after a while but I wonder if they'll be able to sell a lot of stuff related to the renault team. Maybe some awful knitted pull overs...Wait, wasn't the team named Benetton before !

On the other hand, the new Honda is superb with her black dress. Unfortunately, this won't last ; the new livery is said to feature a lot of green - for ecology and maybe for a certain British driver. It can't be worse than Renault...

If it's at Chicago I'm going to goo myself. I love that city and could easily justify emptying the bank account to do two things I love: party Chicago and watch an F1 race. I can't convince the wife to let me take the family down to Indy, but she's already sold on Chicago.
