I don't mean to pick on you two, but I've been seeing this obsession with Ronny O' developing over the last few days. What is it you people see in this guy? He's a good mid, but he plays right side and I really don't think you get anything swapping Mullan for him, and from what I can remember he doesn't play in the middle well like Davis, or for that matter play on the left side so Davis could move in.

I just don't think it'd be a good fit for what we're expected to have/loose. We need to find a AM/F, young & bright. ASAP.

    my $0.02

Edit: and yes we did get hosed by not forcing compensation for Adrian.

I agree with Rikker and Figopimp, we could have played hardball and told Toronto that we would protect Serioux and give them Moreno if they wouldn't swap ROB to us. We could have given another draft pick or something.

Just not good business to give up something for nothing. Maybe they wanted to get Serioux what he wanted but they could have gotten more value had they tried.

I guess they would rather lose Serioux (a starter) than risk the substitute (Holden). More sentimental than logical.

With the trade with Dallas it seems likely that Toronto just didn't want Serioux so maybe we couldn't get anything for him.

And if we left him unprotected because he wanted to go to Toronto then he really got screwed. :(

serioux you blame himself for this problem he should have now that Mo did not like him and he traded him before he should have stayed in Houston.

This looks very bad. I'll wait to hear more about what happened and who knew what before I go off the deep end but this looks very bad.

    So far we know:
    Dallas gave up:
    Ronnie O'brian

    Dallas got:
    Adrian Serioux
    Allocation
    Pass in expansion draft

    Toronto gave up:
    Adrian Serioux (sort of)
    Allocation
Chance at a Dallas player (most likely one of Roberto Mina or Chris Gbandi)

    Toronto got:
    Ronnie O'brian

    Houston gave up:
    Adrian Serioux

    Houston got:
    Nothing

It basically comes down to if we could have gotten anything from Toronto, and we'll probably never know that.

    I love Mullan, but....

Before Houston came to town, I had to root for FCD. I have watched ROB for several years and this guy has as much talent as Mullan, probably more. Look at the career stats for assists, goals for minutes played I'll bet that ROB's is better. Maybe he has had an off year but the problem has been with the coaching at FCD (duh!).

The guy can shake and bake and score if he gets space.

I'm not in love with getting just any player, the point is we could have traded for Mina or Gbandi and at least gotten someone who could possibly start in return!

"we got Jack for Serioux after sending a player to New York for him?" He was part of our Championship team. That's a great deal, even if we only had him for a year.

So what, we keep Serioux, then Toronto takes who, Holden? Wondolowski? What if Serioux wanted to go to Toronto? Now we lose an up-and-coming player and have a pissed off one on our team.

I'm reserving judgment until I find out his reaction to the trade.

Just got the press release: “It was ( Adrian ’s) desire to go to Toronto for personal reasons”, said Houston Dynamo coach Dominic Kinnear . “We want to thank him for his efforts and contributions during the season he spent with our team, and wish him much success as he starts a new stage in his career at Toronto .”

Not from Adrian, but I consider Kinnear a reliable source.

...and the 2006 MLS cup. Serioux was part of that equation, after all.

We need something for the Toronto team introduction. Along the lines of "Screw You, Mo."
