Yura is in Pasadena following foot surgery and returns to Spartak in a week or so. One of my students worked the phone lines while home over break (through this connection and that) and got word to Yura that he needed to get a ball signed for his professor. And here it is. Sweet!

DC United just posted on Twitter, they just resigned Fabian Espindola to a DP contract.

 

Good for Fabi. He seems to have found a good place there. I don't miss his crazy ability to shank in the big games but I do miss his fire.

 

Yup, nice to see Fabi getting some rewards for a lot of hard years in MLS.

Would be a bummer. He has had some issues with health the past year or so. Cannot imagine his stock falling so far as to be coming back to the Fire.

 

I'm guessing it's been too long ago for us to get any compensation? I'm guessing we no long own his MLS rights.

 

Did we not extend a good faith offer/bona fide contract when he left in 2009? That should be enough to retain his rights.

 

Ya, I have no idea how we don't own his rights still, that would be extremely strange.

But Trey on twitter thinks to believe he's going to the Bundesliga, which makes way more sense.

And besides, Chicago has signed three new DPs this offseason, so there's no room for him there.

 

Completely OT, but did RSL forbid @ccb1212 from posting on BS since he's now on their payroll (If that rumor is correct...)?

 

Sort of - they have to dump someone before the compliance date in early March, and that will be Gilberto rather than one of their new guys.
