We could have used Joevin Jones back. Hell, we could have used Accam, but we have Sapong, so that's basically a wash. Accam has 4 goals and 2 assists in 337 minutes so far this season (exactly the same as Sapong, except it has taken Sapong 900 minutes to score those 4 goals and 2 assists). The change in scenery should do Accam some good and Columbus getting him for $500k is a good deal (wonder if Philadelphia is also picking up a bit of his salary).
If Wikipedia is right, Orr Barouch scored 3 goals in the first round of the US Open Cup. He now plays for Cal FC. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019_U.S._Open_Cup#Top_goalscorers

Third team in a week or so. That is a pretty smart move for Nashville, assuming Accam does not get injured this summer.

Saw this on ESPN today, complete with a pic of him in the classic white Chicago shirt. Truly one of my favorite fire players ever. Proud that he made such a long and steady career. Made me miss dearly and severely the good ‘old days.
The one thing that Hauptman has done under his ownership, was make the years before his ownership 1998-2007 disappear.
dear Joe , ignore Andy, Nelson and Pauno on this . Here's your action plan 1. Call *Damascus immediately , serious..like right now 2. Congratulate him on his storied career and tell him how great his contribution to Chicago Fire and US soccer is.. 3. Hand phone to young Mr. Reynolds 4. Have him relay to Beasley how much of a role model he is to young players in places like Ft Wayne and Chicago. 5.take phone back 6. Tell Damarcus you have a blank checkbook sitting in front of you 7. Offer him the new and independent role as director of Urban player development . 8. Thank him again for his time and contribution to the game *Autocorrect maintained for humor.
https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2019/05/24/ranking-top-10-center-backs-mls-history What about Lubos Kubik?
Lubos in the honorable mentions with CJ. This was the dumbest kind of list where longevity in the league outweighs quality in the league. Chad Marshall is a good center back, but they list him as the best ever. B.S.
Poll players from that era and not only would they say best defender but one of the best to ever play in the league . That's the key difference between Lubos and everyone on that - you can legitimately put him in an argument for "all time greatest". I mean , the dude scored like 17 goals AS A CENTER BACK in just a few seasons. Watching his highlights from his fire career is a lesson as much as a treat.
Bocanegra is #4 on that list in part to his rookie year understudying Lubos. CJ is an honorable mention from the years learning alongside Kubik . Chris Armas a solid MLS player at LA became one of the best DM's in MLS from playing in front of Lubos. No one on that list comes close .
Btw... if I remember correctly . After getting slammed some years later on here about trading Kubik. Peter Wilt commented that it was pretty much written prior to 2000 that would be his last in Chicago - and Lubos busted his ass getting Carlos into the player to take over on the backline.
