That's a pretty close comparison but I think I would take Kane (although recency bias may play a part). I'd say Shearer was probably the better player in the box. His movement and runs were excellent. He might have the edge in finishing as well although Kane boasts a better goals per minute ratio. I just think Kane does more for the team in buildup, is better on the ball, better holdup play, better at creating chances for the team and himself. So yeah, I think I'd take Kane.
Real are getting worked at home by CSKA. Granted, it's a very weakened team (especially in defense) in a meaningless game, but losing 3-0 at the Bernabeu is just not a good look.
I am loving this season for Real. Nothing better than watching the worst group of fans get knocked down a peg or two.
Over a year and a half later, it's still so sad that such a promising career (and life really) has been cut short in such a fashion.
If he's leaving Real and coming to the Prem, City looks to be his preferred destination. He seems to be one of those players Pep wants badly. Hate saying the same stuff over and over again, but that's the reality unfortunately. And yes, they would have room for him, as D. Silva is coming towards the end of his time at the club and Isco represents the perfect replacement. In other news, It's been touched on previously but Ajax are no joke this season. Every once in a while, they manage to put a pretty strong team, based on the best of their Academy, surrounded by some solid veterans. They've got that mix this season and with a little luck, who knows how far they could go? They've given Bayern all they can handle in both games in the group stage, getting a 3-3 draw after being in the lead well into the 2nd half. The first place teams will surely want to avoid them in the upcoming draw.
Erik ten Hag has done some wonderful stuff with this Ajax side. Wonder how long he will stick around.
You knew he would just by seeing what he did with Utrecth the last few years. They used to be relegation favorites and started competing in the top half. I like those types of coach signings. Low key.
They already have a perfect replacement for D Silva and that's B Silva. But I wouldn't put it past Pep to go after Isco. After all, Pep has shown he needs two elite players in damn near every position to be successful.
B. Silva is an option, but Isco is a clear upgrade. And as noted, Pep as never hidden his love and admiration for him. Hard to imagine he wouldn't do everything he could to sign him, if he were to become available. The thought of Isco linking up with the likes of KdB, Sane, Mahrez and so on, is frightening though.
Probably the signing of the season so far, as far as I'm concerned. Especially when he cost Arsenal just £26.5mil. That's a (massive) bargain in today's market.

AC Milan have been hit with a €12mil fine, plus the threat of a 1yr European competition ban, if they fail to balance the books over the next 3yrs, over FFP violations.
Ousmane Dembélé has been banned from turning off his phone by Barcelona after once again turning up two hours late to training on Sunday. 📱According to reports, he stays up into the early hours of every morning playing video games and watching TV series. 🎮 pic.twitter.com/SajtJKjFQs— Football Tweet ⚽ (@Football__Tweet) December 15, 2018
GJ starting to get his groove back? That's 2 for him today (with Sane getting the assist both times) and 2 for City vs Everton. Putting the pressure back on Pool ahead of tomorrow's game. Everton pull one back. 2-1, Calvert-Lewin. Game on. Raz gives City some breathing room and their 2 goal lead back.
For a player who reportedly is obsessed with scoring, Kane is still a very aware and unselfish striker. That pass to Ericksen for what looks like the game winner, is a great example. He does provide so much, in the buildup and creative side alone, even when he does not score.
Kane is top class, LVG should have splashed 50million on him back then when we seemed interested but market wasnt inflated..
