Werner scores and continues his fine form in European football scoring a tying goal vs Serie A leaders Napoli. His 4th in Europe this season. https://streamgoals.com/video/d631403369
and Werner with a double to make the game 3-1. It's his 2nd EL goal and 5th in Europe this season. https://streamable.com/b0rkz massive win for the team and Werner impressing vs a good opponent in a knockout game. oh and look Forsberg in his comeback game with the assist for the goal.
interesting facts 1-The double scored today was Werner's 50th and 51st goals scored while playing in top flight in all competition 2-Werner scored 5 Europe goals this season and ALL of them were scored away from home 3-Werner is now only 1 goal away from tying Poulsen who sits at the 2nd all time RB scorer (counting all levels that RB went through before getting to 1BL).
Timo Werner first option Lars Stindl second option Third option ... don't need anybody even if Reus stay health ,and Schurlle scores 5 goals this season , due the Low's love for himself , Stindl place is questionable
Werner's RB contract expires in 2020 and according to some reports from yesterday, he rejected an extension. Although it's not a final decision. all of EPL's top clubs, the 6 of them are interested in him, as well as Real/Barca/Atletico. I do wonder if he impresses at the WC and doesn't extend. Will this make a team spend the big $$$ post WC in the Summer?

and the 2 consecutive games that RB lost, he was a sub only. And those 5 games where he didn't score RB as a team were pretty bad. Barely winning games. Look at today's game, Augustin's goal was nothing but a tap in after it hit the post. RB have been worse this season than last. Truth is last season, RB got lucky in so many games, scoring scrappy goals, barely winning. This time they aren't able to drill out results. Outside of 1 game, they've been unconvincing for like the last 6 games. If you add EL, 3 consecutive losses and they sucked so bad in those 3 games. The Napoli game for example they barely created any chances. At this rate, CL might become out of reach if they don't improve.
Without Keita for likely most of the rest of the season I'm thinking they're going to have a hard time mounting a comeback.
And Werner with a very nice backheel assist to set up RB for the 1-0 lead in EL. https://streamja.com/koe
Werner now scores to make it 2-0 in EL. https://streamja.com/734 now at 3 goals and 1 assist in 3 games in EL. 6 goals and 1 assist in 9 games in Europe this season. Werner was the reason they got past Napoli in R32 and now once again in R16 is making a difference.
Werner getting his 2nd assist in EL to make it 1-0 for RB. https://streamja.com/jRe Good solo getting into the box and lay through pass. has been very influential for RB this season in Europe.
45 - Timo #Werner (@DieRotenBullen) has scored 5 goals in 4 European away games in 2017-18, averaging a goal every 45 minutes. Goalgetter. #ZENRBL pic.twitter.com/P1YkNCdErt— OptaFranz (@OptaFranz) March 15, 2018 22 - Timo #Werner (@RBLeipzig_EN) has been involved in 22 goals in 36 appearances in all comps this season, among #Bundesliga players that's a total only surpassed by Robert Lewandowski (35). Prolific. #ZENRBL pic.twitter.com/AnCfYC6uAJ— OptaFranz (@OptaFranz) March 15, 2018
Werner who usually does well vs Bayern since joining RB, scores his 11th of the season to make it 2-1. https://streamja.com/Gp7
and Werner wins the game and 3pts for RB. LOL at him starting on the bench and coming on as a sub in the 1st half. His intro changed the whole game. It was also Bayern's 1st defeat after like 18-20 consecutive games of being unbeaten.
I think it's more about symbolism than about having meaning. RB beat Bayern for the 1st time ever. Last year they barely lost to Bayern so its more about the whole is RB a potential threat to Bayern in the future? Even the Cup game, Bayern needed PK to beat a 10 men RB.
Ok... For me (and many BL fans) it’s Tradition vs Plastic. Perhaps Bayern can save Werner from that in the near future
that's not my opinion, not an RB fan nor do I care about the club. It's just something I always see brought up in the last 2 seasons, the rise of RB Leipzig and could they be a rival for Bayern.
I have a feeling it’s media hype. But I do thing it would be funny to see an all RB finale in Europe....
well in Werner's case, he got some revenge for his Cup Penalty shootout miss that let Bayern proceed to the next round.
