    Hi Everyone,

We here at Everton USA NY, in conjunction with Mr. Dennehy's, are in the middle of organizing a Charity Event to be held on March 20th. I am writing to let you all know about what we are doing, hopeful that you will join us!

Everton plays Bolton in the late morning of Saturday the 20th March, then that evening the RedBulls NY play Brasilian side Santos to serve as the Grand Opening of their beautiful new stadium. Red Bull has several festivities planned for this event. As a group we will depart Mr. Dennehy's at 4pm to take a bus out to the grounds to enjoy a live game and then return to the bar after the game. Estimate getting back to Mr. D's around 10-10:30 (giving us an hour to get out of the stadium and then an hour or so to battle parking lot traffic etc).

The Haiti disaster was a big factor in our decision to try and make it a day out for charity. Current Red Bull Seth Stammler leads the sportingchancefoundation.org, an organization dedicated to improving lives of those in Haiti. American International and former Red Bull Jozy Altidore, proud of his Haitian heritage, is also a longtime supporter of Sporting Chance. We hope to raise funds for this cause to help better the lives of those that have survived the devastation and must find a way to go on in their home country.

The purpose of Everton USA NY putting this together:
1). We are a large group of friends and fans that enjoy each others company.
2). We enjoy soccer in all forms and want to promote our club, Everton FC, as well as promote our local team, RBNY. (We WILL have an Everton USA banner with us, and hope you ALL wear your royal blue!)
3). The easier it is for people to help out, and the less we have to think about it, the more likely we are to donate. If we get an enjoyable day out as part of the bargain, all the better for us!

Tickets may be purchased at Mr. Dennehy's for $50 per person and everyone - regardless of the team they support - is welcome while spaces last! This will be a family friendly event but we do plan to have some sort of complimentary beverage for you on the bus!!! There is also talk of a raffle... more to come on this!

So, if you are in the NYC area that weekend, send me an email to reserve a spot (Payment due ASAP). Bring your friends, bring your family, bring your generosity (Extra donations always welcome ;)), and let's have some fun.

    So how was the match?

Was Red Bull Stadium as good as it looked on TV?

Red bull arena was very pretty. great view of the game no matter where you are. They have issues with concessions stands (normally one walkway provides for one level, but they only have one walk way and 2 levels and the servers weren't ready for the rush of bodies etc. kinks will likely be worked out eventually)

We raised $1000 for Seth Stammler's Sporting Chance Foundation. We will be presenting the check to him/them at some point soon. The day itself was incredible. the weather was amazing, everton won, everyone was in a great mood and just enjoying themselves.

Here's hoping any and all future events we put together have just as much success :)

I concur on the thoughts regarding RBA. A very good facility, much like my PPL Park in Philadelphia. Good to see SSS develop this far in our country.
