I will add that I find a rivalry compelling only when - most years - there's a couple of good teams involved. What has been fun about the RMC lately? Not much.
He gets his brace in the 15th. LAG up 3-1 in the 17th. The newcomer Pavon with a goal and an assist. This isn’t going the way we want it to.
That was one of the best first half’s of a match I have seen in along time. 1 point for LA is better than 3.
Not MLS but a sad day for Bury FC fans. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.in...e-takeover-bolton-wanderers-a9081336.html?amp Bolton Wanderers fans might not be far behind. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.sk...keover-or-face-expulsion-from-football-league On a happier not my league 2 Crawley Town FC bested Norwich from the EPL to advance to the third round of the EFL cup for the first time I believe. #Town, Team, Together!
Channeling posts from 2011 or so: "I'm so tired of being second all the time. Maybe they should re-name the team RUSL for Runner-Up Salt Lake. Blah, blah, blah."
To pat myself on the back my first instinct to the post about being in second place was to post “Our rightful place and all is again as god intended”. But it’s a new day and we have our sights aimed squarely at the LAFC front runners. Let them shudder when they realize they have to play us in the playoffs.
they've made a mockery of us this season. The close result to start distracted from just how dominant they were (and how stout our defense was, to be fair). The USOC game was up there in humiliating defeats I've watched at the RioT. And this last one felt far too much like the CCL final where we were second best the whole time, just hoping for something to bounce our way unexpectedly. That team is good - like best I've ever seen in the league good. I have no ill will towards them. If we can't win it (we can't) then I want them to run through everyone and prove their dominance.
Yes. I was fine with Atlanta winning but I would be more in favor of an LAFC thrashing of Atlanta this year.
Who says it willbe LAFC thrashing Atlanta this year? It's seems kind of premature to start measuring the LAFC trophy case for the MLS Cup since the season isn't over yet and we still have the playoffs to go thru. Much can happen between now and the MLS Cup championships. LAFC might be the most dominate team in the league right now, but let all remember what happened to the 2007 New England Patriots. They went 16-0 in the regular season, won all their playoff games and looked like they would go unbeaten by winning the Super Bowl. Unfortunately, nobody told that to the New York Giants who beat New England 17-14 and their 2007 season is just a footnote. And besides, RSL will beat LAFC in the playoffs and go on to the MLS Cup where RSL will thrash Atlanta, not LAFC.
Sure. Something about something in one hand and a wish in the other, yada, yada, yada... Playing the odds it should be LAFC v ATL but I would actually prefer two other teams myself. If it all goes to Hoyle I would prefer LAFC thrash ATL but I’m all in on RSL winning again but back to my hand analogy.
I don't know which team I would want to win out of Atlanta and LAFC. If Atlanta wins, then we have to put up with the Eastern Conference version of Seattle for the next year talking about how they are the team of destiny, yada, yada, yada. If LAFC wins, then we have to put up with T-Shirt Bob talking about how they are the greatest team in the history of the MLS, yada, yada, yada. Too bad they just can't call the game and not award the trophy because both teams are douches.
You leave Coach Sweats out of this. That man is a national treasure, if only for the fact he dresses like a high school gym teacher.
He makes more than enough money coaching LAFC that he could at least buy himself a polo shirt with the LAFC logo on it. Coaches should dress like the professionals that they are supposed to be. Suit and tie or if it's hot, white shirt and tie or at least a high-quality polo shirt with the team logo on it. Wearing a t-shirt makes you look like a slob.
