    Aaand now Chicago signs Gaitan.

I am finding myself being jealous of teams with big name signings, even when I know not all of them work out and it's a gamble.

Beckham seems to be, genuinely, one of the nicest human beings in the world.

Seriously, the way he handled that was super respectable. And that he didn't just shove Corden off the platform at the end for putting him through hell...

PTFC are the first team in MLS history to allow 3 or more goals in regular time in their first 3 games of the season.

I feel like this is a record 2005 RSL should have held... That team was sooooo bad

But the first game was played in one of the more amazing wind storms I've ever seen a team play through. Unless the wind blew a ball into the goal (which almost happened a time or two), no one was scoring a goal that day (much less three).

Sorry, I know this is old news, but I just stumbled upon this ESPN FC article and thought it interesting.

I've never been a fan of Donovan, actually I have despised him like no other. But after reading the article I've had little bit of a change of heart about him. I see a bit of nobility in going to play for an indoor team and trying to raise the profile of the league.

Maybe it's a stretch to use the word "nobility" but the indoor game is held in high regard in other countries, especially Brazil. I'd like to see the indoor game get a little more respect in the US.

If some other former MLS players got involved maybe it would do just that.

Moreover, the nature of the game was different. This was not the outdoor version of the sport that the world adores, but rather the 6-on-6 indoor format that has graced American venues off and on for the better part of 40 years.

The indoor game has something of a tortured history in the U.S. It was the forefront of the sport in the 1980s and even contributed to the temporary demise of the outdoor game, but the intervening years have seen it survive via a veritable alphabet soup of competitions, most of which haven't lasted very long. At 10 years old, though, MASL could be the exception and Donovan's presence is the next step: "This is fuel for the rocket ship," league commissioner Josh Schaub says.

I used to follow the indoor game back in the 80's when some of the stars were Steve Zungul, Tatu, Stan Stamenkovic and Preki. The league was called MISL which I always thought was kind of cool.

Maybe Landycakes will show the way for other older MLS players to continue playing after retirement.

Indoor Soccer and outdoor soccer are similar in that they share the name soccer and have a ball you kick into a goal. That's about it. I have no ill will with the game, I just am rather indifferent to it at the professional level.

One cool thing about the indoor league, there is only one team with a silly "FC" name, that being Utica City Football Club.

The other 16 teams have proper US soccer names, like Sidekicks, Blast, Comets, and Barracudas. They even have a team called the Metrostars.

    Now that's old school.

Nah, old school would be 1890's baseball teams named after the color of their socks or a local bar.

Any bets that he gets a slap on the wrist?

Rooney, who has a history of DUI, and was arrested most recently for public intoxication at Dulles Airport. Can't remember any league punishment for him.

Anyone remember what happened to Velazquez after his DUI?

doesnt the league have a whole substance abuse policy thing now that they make players, who get into situations like this, go through? I swear that is what happened with Vela or was one of the newer parts of the CBA...

Arjun Robben goes on record that he wants to go to MLS instead of Inter Milan. I would assume ATL or one of the LA or NY teams will get him?
