If you use "cash grab" and "FIFA" in the same sentence, any self-respecting editor will flag it as redundant.
Give credit where its due though. Yes this is a cash grab poorly veiled as something else, but at least for now, it seems on the level (no bribery). Handing the World Cups to Russia and Qatar were also cash grabs poorly veiled as "more inclusion" but was bribery cash grabs.
we're not to the stage yet where bribes come in. Any nation(s) could make a bid. FIFA hasn't awarded the 2026 tournament yet
There's always plenty of time for a FIFA cash grab - start early and play often! FIFA: All your rights are belong to us. Your cash too. All cash donations are not eligible for return, reporting, or tax deduction - they're ours now, so suck it. Not valid in countries with extradition treaties.
Holy moly...Good night to pick David Villa as your fantasy captain. Too bad their aren't extra points for distance. .@Guaje7Villa from DEEP. pic.twitter.com/BOSWx9Q9zc— Major League Soccer (@MLS) April 15, 2017
Lot's of expansion talk lately about Phoenix. Anyone worried about how this may affect the RSL academy?
Looks like they're planning for a climate controlled stadium FWIW. https://www.google.com/amp/www.12ne...s-for-major-league-soccer-expansion/395119013
Really? Will it be like those air-conditioned soccer stadiums that Qatar is building for the World Cup? The next question is what happens to RSL's exclusive territory for recruitment? Phoenix gets Arizona and RSL gets two players named Jack and Shit?
You guys see that punk NY player who headbutted the Dallas player? http://cdn0.sbnation.com/assets/3703981/petke.gif from Chris Kamrani's twitter: 410904397095268352 is not a valid tweet id
Yet another reason to go to the RSL-Orlando game in June if Petke and Kreis decide to pick up where they left off their no-holds-barred grudge match.
http://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2017/04/19/mls-owners-reportedly-considering-investing-more-tam-funds The sarcasm in me says that this is because LA is out of cash. But, overall this is a good thing; helping teams sign and retain as many of their good young players as possible.
Well, you probably aren't far off. They are wanting to bring over Zlatan, and I think Chicharito as well wasn't it? If they are low on available cap space I am sure the league will figure out some way to help. Hell, MLS already admitted to playing favorites "in the past"
chicharito is a LAFC rumor. One that would be PERFECT for their market. I really don't want Zlatan to go to LA because I wanna justify those MUFC tickets with seeing him. But then I'd (likely) get to see him next season so... But I said the same thing about Drogba and we all saw how that went. Bastard
yeah... thats terrible. If anyone could come back at that age, it's Ibra. The way he treats his body is quite insane. Fingers crossed we see him in Sandy. If not, United has to make a move for a top striker. So...
It seems like it goes both ways on whether or not Ibra stays for another season or not. It seems like it's leaning towards him leaving, which I'm fine with. He's had a fantastic career, but it's better they move on to someone that can at least give 3-4 years.
2 complaints about he NYCFC v Orlando game going right now. First, NYCFC is still playing on a baseball field. Come on! Second, how did MLS allow a game to go when home team is wearing light gray and away team is in white?
Isn't the visiting team supposed to travel with more than one option of uniform so they can change if their away uniforms looks too much like the home team's? I could be mistaken but I thought I heard that was required.
Kreis reminds me of Neymar in that video. Throw a couple of elbows and then lay down when lightly tapped.
