Pretty much, which surprised me a bit. His nickname was "The Mayor of Hannover". Sigi had a couple good stories about him.... Still bummed that the one time I could have seen him play for Hannover (vs Gladbach), he was out injured and did not make the lineup. Of course I saw him play for the US....
I was just shaking my head for about fifteen minutes at the end of that match -- and for about ten more afterward.
Yup, Mix is doing big things with Man City alright... Mix Diskerud and Jack McInerney training with IFK Goteborg http://www.espn.com/soccer/ifk-gote...and-jack-mcinerney-training-with-ifk-goteborg
Where is a good place to watch the North London Derby tomorrow if one is an Arsenal fan? I thought I heard there is an Atsenal supporter's pub.
At yesterday's Man u Huddersfield FA Cup game there was a demonstration of everything that's wrong about VAR, and everything they assure us will never happen. A Juan Mata goal was eventually called back after at least two maybe three minutes of standing around waiting for some schmuck to rewind the video 50 times. It was as close as any offside I've ever seen. An RCH either way. In no way was it "clear and conclusive evidence". I've seen it.a dozen.times now and I still just don't know and neither does the official. Either way, stopping a soccer game for 2-3 minutes while a bunch of.fools take a micrometer to a film clip destroys the game a hell.of a lot worse than a weak or borderline call. They have to either get this right or.dump it.
To everyone complaining about VAR in England, get off the EPL's nutsack and watch the Bundesliga. VAR got used twice today, in two different games. Both for offside, one very close, and the other not to much. In both games they took about a minute to finish. In the Schalke game specifically, they mentioned that from goal being scored, to play resuming, it took 1 minute and 2 seconds. I'd say 50-75% of that time was spent celebrating anyway. Refs in England suck. It's not a VAR problem, its a people sucking at their job problem.
VAR is used in every Bundesliga game. VAR is only used in FA Cup games which are on BT Sport (pretty sure it isnt used on the BBC or Sky) so it was nothing to do with the Premier League. So in your rush to condemn the Premier League. You, again, show your ignorance. No wonder it takes a while for them to sort out and they are useless with it. It is going to be a disaster in Russia in the summer as well. That's where the World Cup is.
The English are so stuck up their own ass about the EPL and FA Cup, with its oldest cup competition in the wotld shit its ridiculous. I listen to the sunday supplement. They mention that why is new tech being used in the fa cup? Their reasoning? FA Cup is old, keep it that way. GTFO.
I disagree with you. There are way more problems with the FA Cup than introducing technology. And believe it or not there are quite a lot of fans in England that could careless about the EPL
So bitter and ignorant. They would be stuck up their own arse. VAR is a waste of time. It doesn't work. Bundesliga players are complaining about it.
I'm going to have to agree with this. VAR in it's current for is pretty terrible. Is there another way that might work? Maybe - but I'm convinced this current iteration is not it.
OMG. Everyone watch this. Goalkeeper needs a drink, that's cool. Slight problem though, game is still going on. Whoops...
UEFA not going to use VAR in next seasons champions league http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/amp/football/43202295 Interestingly “ The International Football Association Board, which rules on the game's laws, meets on Saturday to decide whether to approve the technology permanently. If it does, then Fifa is committed to using the system at the World Cup. “
Sad news--a Fiorentina player has passed in his hotel room: Davide Astori. Serie A games on Sunday were postponed. Link
So much 'interesting...' in this one: Greek Soccer Team President storms field to protest call, was wearing a holstered gun There's a Russian Interference joke to be made here (the president is a former member of the Russian parliament) but that will just get everyone riled up.
