disagree. it doesn't create chances or space. a couple people spoke of it last match thread. individual brilliance coming in clutch versus a system that results in real chance creation
There were plenty of chances created against West Ham we just didn't finish them. That is an entirely different thing. Jist off the top of my head I can think of the Hazard goals, the Kante shot, Higuain off the post, CHO forcing the save, the deflect shot wide off of the Higuain shot that he chested down, then both Hazard and RLC had shots they fluffed in side the box. Those were all good chances. And that's also a night and day difference from just 2 months ago. What we had was Hazard putting them away. That doesn't mean there weren't chances.
Sarri isn't getting canned between now and the end of the season and he's not out of the woods for me. But if he's willing to play our best squad and we loom like we have for the last two PL matches, I can get behind this.
I don't agree with this the system is flawed. I don't really enjoy watching this kind of negative football. I agree that he is now starting to give the attack minded players a go and I would say that this is the reason why we created chances against West Ham despite the system rather than because of the system.
We beat Prague 1-0, which was nice to bring home in the next leg. As for Sarri, to keep in mind: * he came in late; not sure who is to blame, but the club have a history of botching things like this, but Napoli is no picnic to deal with. So we had a short pre-season. * new system * ageing/deteriorating players (Pedro, Willian) * players in the wrong system (Alonso) * players adapting to new positions (Kante) * bad players (Morata, Kovacic, Higuain) not performing Currently third in a league where the two ahead of us have world class players up and down the pitch in their youthful prime. Also, non-related, but Higuain looks like everyone's Dad out there.
