Only hint of a threat so far is willian down the left but he has absolutely no options to work with. Girouds positioning in the box extremely poor. Feels like sarri is just hoping for a draw here as not taking any risks going forward.
Also we should be resting Dave for Pool on Sunday. Zappa should be starting today. Hell I’d even consider resting Kepa. 2 days is not enough time.

Seriously poor. Midfield is clogged up and static. Pedro and giroud absolute zero factors so far. Needs a touch of energy from somewhere and do not want to be risking a hazard cameo.

Pedro and Alonso have been shockingly terrible. Like, honestly, some of the worst I've seen. Willian off the bar and Giroud's offside call (he looked on to me and you don't give the defender the benefit of the doubt because he's on the ground) are our only pluses. Midfield poor, although Barkley is working his socks on in our end winning balls back. Giroud has had no service to speak of. Brutal.
Yep. Pedro has done nothing. Alonso is still sulking that he is not a wing-back in a back 5. Kovacic and Jorghino are playing hot potato with the ball as usual. Willian's shot was great. Rudiger and Christensen are good. Giroud is lonely. Barkley is trying. Prague are pressing high and I am not sure why we are not doing the same to them.

A great goal. As any type of player trying to put your head on the ball, that cross was absolute perfection. More than anything these matches show why it's so important that players like CHO and rlc get genuine minutes. It's been a rough watch.

Honestly, it was awful. It's a win that looked and felt like a draw at best. Kepa saved our bacon a few times and while Alonso scored, overall he and Pedro were detriments to the side. Kova offered absolutely nothing too.
Not only him but Jorginho too. Pedro was so bad he could have been subbed after 25 minutes. Having to bring in the big boys just hurts.
Shit that’s right and he isn’t exactly known for his fitness. Our lack of depth really showed it’s hand today. Sunday will be rough.
Not having Barkley and Kova go the full 90 was indicative of how useless Kova was and how ineffective Barkley was. All in all, it was really poor. That was pretty much our top group a couple of minutes ago with obviously Hazard and Kante in. No wonder we sucked.
The system has been fine when the right players are playing. Problem is it took 8 months to get there. Watching today just highlights how poor most are for the system though.
