All our front three players are struggling. Mancini is being slow to react

Kean is being asked to do too much defensively for me, it’s difficult for him to get involved near the goal.

He has had two clear chances to square easy passes into the centre and messed both of them up.

    Ciro needs to come off.

Quags > Ciro yes that’s obvious but let’s play our best 11 players when they are available

For sure a good portion but that’s what the manager asked of him and it’s not like just anyone can do that

He also won 16 of 21 duels
    Was fouled on 4 occasions
    6 for 6 successful dribbles
    Won 3 tackles
    Blocked 1 shot
    Played 1 key pass
And yes 93% with 107 accurate passes !

Great performance against a not so great Finland

Meh. So-so effort, but at least we get the win and score more than once. Great to see the youth, Barella and Kean, on the score-sheet. Also good to see Zaniolo come on late even if he didn't really have time to show what he can do.

I wish we can be rid of Immobile. He is utterly useless in a possession-based system. Quags was far better in only ten minutes!

The other guy I don't understand in Jorginho. What's the point of playing him if you already have a superior player in Verratti who plays the same role?

In any event, hopefully the team continues to grow and bring on some top notch youth players.

If Quagliarella plays consistently for the national team, we really need to consider taking him to Euro 2020. I honestly think he is our best striker. Insigne was playing as a false 9, and maybe we can try Kean there as well, but if not best I'd say second best. He has looked really dangerous and almost scored twice. I know he will be 37 next year, but it is only a year away, and if he shows he is good, we need to take him and at least give him 20-30 min in some games.

Still feels like a experimental squad.
Would like to see a proper first team set up that the young/new players try to break into with their form/performance. We need a hierarchy and an identity fast. This isn’t Mancinis fault as the Conti identity was blown to pieces by Ventura but he must work fast.

    I would love to see

    Insigne Balotelli Chiesa
    Barella Verratti Zaniolo
    Spin—Chi—Romg—Floren

After watching the game, I think that Quags should get the start over Immobile on Tuesday. Berna and Quags were instantly linking up and seemingly on the same page. I will have to agree with some posters that Jorginho should probably be dropped for Zaniolo to give the midfield more bite (unless you're okay with tiki taka Italian style). I thought the best player today was Nicolo Barella, A beast in that midfield. I think he would do even better with another active player to support him.

I think Italy definitely missed Chiesa's dynamic style. To me, while Kean did score a goal, I think he's better off from the bench than starting out wide. You can only imagine how highly Mancini rates Politano and El Shaaraway when he bypassed both of them for a 19 year old CF. And to be honest, the coach is right. Both those guys are not national team material.

A decent game, but the injury to Chiesa (and Insigne) was noticeable.
