Portugal and Ronaldo choking. Tbh they've been good but just can't finish. Should have won both games. Remind me of us 4 years ago where we drew out first two games and went on to make the final. We played better opposition of course. Anyway they've been good but as always lack that mental strength. If they get past Belgium I think they'll make the final and lose to France. They'll smash Hungary, Ronaldo will score 3 or 4 past them.

Speaking of Belgium they looked great against Ireland. They weren't bad against us they just got schooled.

How does England, the second placed team in Group B, match with the second placed group team in Group F? Makes no sense.

Because UEFA decided to increase the number of teams in this competition and it messes everything up.

If there's six group winners and only four 3rd place teams.....that means the other two 1st place teams have to play runner ups.

Welp then your left with 4 runner up teams who have to face each other obviously.

There's so many things wrong with this format I don't even know where to begin.

I think what they could have done to make it somewhat better........just keep the knockout at 8 teams. 6 group winners and the two best runner ups. It would have made the group stage games more interesting and brought some balance to the knockout phase

Yeah this format is all sorts of messed up, one side of the bracket is all the world soccer giants and on the other side it's the minnows, good job UEFA.

How weak is Serie A? All three goalscorers in the Croatia/Spain game play for Italian teams. Poland's scorer, Fiorentina's Błaszczykowski...even Mario Gomez is owned by Fiorentina.

Ronaldo and Portugal to come alight today. Big win for the Portuguese. They'll be in the final or Belgium against the French. Might see what the bookmakers have them at.

Ronaldo for 3 or 4 today.

More like the worst group in recent memory and Portugal finishes third and no wins. They are lucky this tournament setup is messed up and they get through. Lots of fingers and toes being used by Portuguese Fans calculating if they get through that embarrassment of a group.

No wins but could have easily been three wins with our misfortune every game .

We didn't lose either and I wouldn't be surprised if Hungary and Iceland win their next games.

you're clutching at straws now. Woulda, coulda, shoulda is a mentality losers adopt. By your own thoughts you could and should have gone down 4-3 after Hungary hit the post. The fact is, you're winless in the easiest group in the comp. You played like bums.

Your going to get your first loss against Croatia because your actually playing a real team. Hungary is not beating Belgium lol. Iceland beating England? I doubt it but that's more likely than Hungary and Portugal getting a win in the next round

    same thing with PT...

most of our fans were worried when we got a easy looking group.

its our mentality , its similar in some respects to Italian mentality. Do just enough to get by. We aren't ruthless like germans for example.

Maybe crotia will win, but most of us are cautiously optimistic about this one.

    not really

we got a decent defense, strong mid, now Ronaldo woke up

recipe of a tough team to stop

but yeah we have to step it up against Croatia for sure but that is our mentality we will show up when it matters. job got done today and thats all. we will see saturday.

Italy celebrated like they won the WC when they beat belgium, now Spain is coming... probably another 4-0? I am predicting an Iberian sweep this weekend.

No one was celebrating like we won the world cup. Still some fans of ours were unhappy with the way we played, look through the threads. You don't even know what celebrating a world cup win even looks like bud
