VS alright boys ... onto the second game! Most likely i am going to miss this game (i will be attending my promotion that day..) but i have done my part of creating the thread..
The defence has to concede less space between them and the midfield, but the problem lies with the lack of mobility in them areas a big concern against French or Belgium
The problem is surely Mustafi not being Hummels as for in this left leaning setup leaving the left CB exposed when Hector, Kroos, Draxler and Özil lost the ball up front. Hope Hummels can do better and the defense should be more secure
Well...So what did you guys think of Howedes? I wasnt to impressed. Although neither did Muller, really have a particular good game, Draxler showed one or two nice moves...but nothing special... oezil was quite until he setup Schweinie.. Khedira was also average. When loew did not react at all, with Goetze poor performance it felt like 4 years back at the last Euros , him making vital mistakes at vital times.... really you could see Goetze was totally out of place and could/should have been subbed at around 65th minutes already...Did he(Jogi) not see that ????Also what did Jogi say , we should be able to change our formation during a game... i saw none of that yesterday! Maybe I dont see what Jogi sees..... yes first half we had some good chances, but so did Ukraine.. so 1st half was not as good as many say.... 2nd Half Defensively was a bit better , but upfront was hardly any good... The guys did not know what to do, in the end they halfheartedly just crossed the ball in.... or passed it back all the way to Neuer (ideenlos) So would like to see the following for Poland. -------------------------------Neuer------------------------- Kimmich-------Hummels--------Boa-----------Hector -----------------Khedira------------------Kroos------------ Muller----------------------Oezil--------------------Draxler -------------------------------Gomez
Yeah, this is the big game of the group. Poland didn't look hugely impressive against Northern Ireland, but they've got really decent talent in the likes of Lewandowski and Milik.
Lewandowski could give us serious problems if we don't tighten up from last game... He's not going to miss all those chances
I feel uncomfortable if pride for our team goes hand in hand with vilification of the opponent. Even if it isn't meant seriously. Granted, I'm very German at this point.
Wouldn't surprise me if Ukraine wins against Poland. They have some really good wingers. Poland has Lewandowski but he wasn't impressive at all yesterday against a very defensive team. That's also something Ukraine is good at. Northern Ireland might end up with 0 points. Probably everyone will win against them.
Unfortunately I don't think Löw will trust any of the bright young #6s on his team, and I don't see him making a change at RB after a clean sheet. So, I think the best we could possibly hope for Löw to go with against Poland would be this. ------------------Neuer Höwedes-Boateng-Hummels-Hector -------------Schweinsteiger --------Kroos----------Khedira Shürrle--------Müller--------Draxler I don't think anyone really wants Schweinsteiger out there at this stage of his career, regardless how anyone feels about him, but Löw seems to like his experienced players. Hopefully there will be no more Müller on the right or Götze at striker.
Schweini will start in the key matches later. He's bit ready to start yet. I hope hummels is back. As good as Mustafi was he made a lot of Key errors.
And didn't Schweini say that he doesn't feel like he can play a full 90 anyway and that 45 is more suitable given his fitness level?
