ESPN Classic will air many classic Euro matches next week leading up to Friday's kickoff Monday - 4 matches in a row beginning at 11 am est Tuesday - 2 matches beginning at noon Wednesday - 4 matches beginning at 11 am Thursday - 4 matches beginning at 9 am - looks like both semis and the final from 2008 are listed
I've got AT&T Uverse and in the "On Demand" guide, under ESPN, they have 8 1/2 hour Euro Preview shows available- I've watched 4 of them so far and they're pretty good - feature profiles on each team, how they got there, they have interviews with past Euro players, current players, profiles on each city, etc. Really well done. I assume any cable system with the on demand feature has these.

Odd that there's nothing from 2004 when Setanta had the rights or from 2000 when (I'm assuming Setanta as well) had those rights
ESPN today announced its studio teams for the English and Spanish presentations of the UEFA European Football Championship 2012 (June 8 to July 1) in Poland and Ukraine. Outside the Lines host Bob Ley, ESPN UK football presenter/reporter Rebecca Lowe, and SportsCenter anchor Max Bretos will combine to host English-language studio programming for the event. Veteran Spanish-language television journalist José Ramón Fernández will be primary host for ESPN Deportes studio programs for the UEFA EURO 2012. The studio hosts will work with a team of former players who excelled in professional soccer: former German National Team captain Michael Ballack, 1978 FIFA World Cup champion and Golden Boot winner Mario Kempes, former U.S. National Team defender Alexi Lalas, former U.S. National Team and Premier League goalkeeper Kasey Keller, former Mexican National Team player Jose Antonio “Tato” Noriega, and more. Ballack, Keller, Kempes and Noriega will headline a team of studio analysts that also includes Andrés Agulla, José Hernández, Richard Méndez, Fernando Palomo, Tommy Smyth and Taylor Twellman. http://espnmediazone.com/us/press-releases/2012/06/espns-studio-team-for-uefa-euro-2012/
Or pre-1996. But then again, soccer was only invented in 1992 with the advent of the Premier League ;-)
Watching the ESPN classic Euro 2008 games, why were Rae and Smyth broken up, what a great broadcast team, knowledgable, funny, engaging- good mix of British/American style

ESPN brought on Andy Gray who was considered to be a Superstar in terms of analysis at the time especially for ESPN in the USA. At least ESPN didn't bring back Julie Fowdy for Euro Commentary - wow was that awful.
Rae went to Scotland to do SPL for ESPN UK and people in America realized that Smyth was the Vitale of soccer and lost interest.

Studio hosts and analysts in English and Spanish: http://espnmediazone.com/us/press-releases/2012/06/espns-studio-team-for-uefa-euro-2012/ One notable late inclusion: Rebecca Lowe will be in Bristol, Connecticut to host when Ley and Bretos are not available due to other assignments.
Rebecca Lowe already in Bristol, Connecticut as she was hosting Press Pass today for the first time, Press Pass is currently running 7 days a week for the duration of the Euros so I would not be surprised if she host the show a few times a week during the tournament She also appeared during the 2 minute Press Pass segment that runs during Mike and Mike in the Morning on ESPN2 (roughly 10 minutes into the show but it can be shifted around)

from the start of this month its been airing 1930 Adelaide time or Central Standard Time. 20:00 Sydney time / Eastern Standard Time, after being pushed back one hour after ESPN International axed the Pacific Rim version of Sportscenter on the 23rd of April. The ESPN America (European / UK) version of SC got axed the same day some serious cost cutting measures been done at ESPN HQ
I downloaded the show at around 0555 New York Time on Thursday, before the broadcast in Australia at 0600 New York Time/2000 Sydney Time. One would assume that the show was taped sometime between 10pm and midnight New York Time the previous day. Won't be surprised if ESPN UK were to operate in "survival mode" if beIN Sport UK (Qatar Media) were to win 5 out of 7 English Premier League live video rights packages in the UK market. ESPN, Inc. is getting out of international markets with no growth potential. I figured that Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, and Vietnam were the first ones on the list. Sure enough, ESPN decided to get out of Asia ex-Japan completely. I wonder how long ESPN, Inc. can stay in Australia and the South Pacific, knowing that growth opportunities are limited there as well. NewsCorp is too dominant in Australia.
I know Press Pass is delayed here by at least 10 hours which it used to be shown live back in its day and I can nearly always watch it online before it comes on tv but its clear the show has changed direction to please ESPN UK. This is Press Realease from ESPN UK Football discussion show expanding to seven nights a week during tournament, featuring discussion, analysis, on-location reports from Poland and Ukraine, plus special guests including Michael Ballack Complements ESPN’s Euro 2012 coverage on ESPNFC.com & ESPN Classic As UEFA Euro 2012 approaches, Press Pass, ESPN’s football discussion and analysis show that looks at the global game with a global perspective, will connect fans with all the latest from Poland and Ukraine. Expanding to seven nights a week for the duration of the tournament, the studio show will also add on-location reports from ESPN reporter Darrell Currie on assignment in Poland and Ukraine during the tournament. Press Pass will air every night at 11:30pm in the UK and Ireland, with re-airings the following morning and afternoon. Click here for full schedule information. Already featuring an outstanding and diverse group of contributors – including former European professionals, commentators and top journalists – the show will feature special guest hosts and pundits during the tournament including ESPN football presenter and reporter Rebecca Lowe, who will make her debut on the show, plus special guests including former German captain, Michael Ballack. England fans can keep up to date with the latest from the national side’s camp, with the show delivering an added focus on news and updates from Roy Hodgson’s squad, while also discussing all other teams in the tournament. Lowe, who also presents ESPN’s coverage of the Premier League and FA Cup in the UK and Ireland, will host the programme on days prior to England matches. The programme will also be sure viewers stay plugged into all the transfer news and discussion in the top domestic leagues. Hosted in turns by Dan Thomas, Andrew Orsatti and Rebecca Lowe, Press Pass brings together a combination of football experts and analysts to discuss multiple topics surrounding UEFA Euro 2012. Among the show’s contributors are: • Shaka Hislop – former Newcastle United, West Ham United and Trinidad & Tobago goalkeeper • Steve Nicol – former Scotland international, member of legendary Liverpool teams in 1980s and 90s • Robbie Mustoe – midfielder who made his name with Middlesbrough and Charlton Athletic • Gabriele Marcotti – journalist, author and expert on European football • Tommy Smyth – football commentator and personality • Janusz Michallik – Polish-American former United States international
wow Ballack is horrible with Lalas and Ley today. No energy, can barely put sentences together, slow to respond to questions. I wonder if it's nerves or if he just can't process English as well. But it is most obvious now between games when they're "vamping"
ESPN programing today announced a switch of networks for the two simultaneous UEFA EURO 2012 matches on Saturday, June 16, beginning at 2:30 p.m. ET. Does anyone know how long it takes for a game to get to On Demand? Is there a usual wait time from the first showing to when it is available later?
