You're right. He got on the WC roster due to playing well at IK Start. Though he solidified a starting spot while at Brondby also due Gooch's injuries and DeMerit (seemingly not called up anymore). Just him n Boca around 2011/12 i believe
Prud'homme was the "homme" when he coached da Gooch! Oneywu turned down a big move (Real?) at one point to play one more season for him.
which is the better league Norway or Sweden? Seems tons of Swedes in Norway nowadays (football as well as everyday citizens)
Swedish league is currently ranked 20th to Norway's 24th in UEFA coefficients. Generally pretty even usually but the average wage in Norway is higher. As of 2014 the Tippeligaen's average wage was £115,000 versus £85,000 in the Allsvenskan.
I'd have thought the league ranking was switched but Sweden did have Malmo in the CL in 14/15. I wonder if the wage is simply due to Norway being much more expensive and thus pays respectively. thanks for the post btw
Belgium is ranked ahead of Netherlands right now. This is a nice move to a higher level. German and French clubs will be watching.
Gets mentioned on Brugge's official site in an interview with Brugge CEO Vincent Mannaert. He praises both Horvath and the incumbent Butelle, and says that the current backup, Bruzzese, is drawing some outside interest. http://clubbrugge.be/en/news/22838/transfer-q-a-with-vincent-mannaert
Club Brugge are reportedly interested in 27-yo GK Silviu Lung Jr. of Romanian club Astra Giurgiu. http://www.voetbalprimeur.be/nieuws...nse-international-op-het-verlanglijstje-.html http://www.gsp.ro/fotbal/liga-1/col...utarea-se-poate-realiza-in-curand-498158.html

So what is success for Horvath here... It seems like he's being brought in to replace a back up, with the understanding that the starting keeper might be poached some time in the near future? Not pretending to know and if I'm wrong someone please correct me.. But if the above is the case, would starting by this time next year be success for Horvath?
I don't think they're worried about the starter being poached because according to most fans, he's not very good and he's almost 34
Horvath is still so young (turns 22 in June), he could sit for a couple years and be fine in the long run imo. It's all development for him now. What we don't want to see is a MacMath-Philadelphia situation where they just let him drown. I don't think that'll be the case here but this move being a "success" could take years to determine. If Horvath becomes their starter at 24, I think that's a huge success for not only Horvath but also for American goalkeepers.
Perhaps a good example is Brad Friedel. He didn't start until Galatasaray, when he was 24, but even when he moved to the EPL he was second string until he was 29. Not necessarily the ideal path but goalkeepers don't need the PT that field players do. Horvath needs a good training environment, which is very hard to say outside looking in.
A good example, but a rare one too. I wouldn't count on another Yank replicating Friedel's career anytime soon. Between him and McBride I think we U.S. fans were a bit spoiled for a while in terms of seeing careers take off after age 30.
Also, always a good sign when teams pay for a player. They didn't spend money unless they expected him to challenge and play some games. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
