You are insanely correct. I guess we know what Letica was thinking when he heard Mignolet signed with the club.
And I was just thinking too that it's a heckuva sales job to go to a Serie A club and say, "Hey, I've got a client who's the #3 GK at Brugges. How about you take him on loan and make him your #1?" That's the sort of agent Horvath needs. Now, Brugges will probably be much less likely to let him go without Letica as a backup. It seems like he really needed to strike first.
Agent: My client's a very good young GK who's played for multiple European teams. SPAL: "Horvath"? So, he's Croatian? Agent
I’m sure Ethan’s agent is working hard in his clients favor. It’s quite possible that he approached SPAL and they just didn’t want Horvath but were ok with Leticia. Not much an agent can do in that situation
Kind of like Tedesco, whose last name means "German" in Italian (hinting to a past when his ancestors moved across the border and got reminded of their origins by their neighbors, back when people were somehow more tribal), "horvát" is Hungarian for a Croat. The close friendship with Pulisic (a Croat last name meaning "from Pula," the famous city in the Adriatic) could be in part due to genetic proximity, then.
That might be true but quite odd No? Letica hadn't played in 10 months yet gets a move to be the no.1 at a mid-table Italian club yet Horvath gets plaudits for his return as a no.1 at Brugge and gets crap for his trouble. His agent better be getting something done.
Brugge is highly ambitious this transfer season https://www.insidefutbol.com/2019/0...this-to-complete-victor-wanyama-swoop/434888/
Ethan's agent better have some move in the works. Even if he only gets the worst club in Turkey or the Netherlands; it's something.
There’s a lot of complaining about how being part of a “loan army” is terrible for a player. Here’s the opposing case: he is owned by a team that has bent him over three times now and doesn’t seem to want to let him go somewhere else. Would be a lot better IMO if a big club took him back right away and found another home where he could get playing time and not waste a good portion of a season like Miazga.
His relationship with Brugge is tres weird. He's come back time after time to be no.1 but I believe currently it's too a mountain for him to climb. Best bet is to bounce.
https://www.fourfourtwo.com/news/vi...gge-contract-midfielder-has-been-offered-five Highest paid player in Belgium In other news, Brugge's game at the weekend was postponed. A week until the transfer window closes.
Mignolet and now Wanyama (at 3.5 million sterling a year)? Where are Brugge getting the money? Without a) a new owner with real money or b) a substantial new revenue stream, there are going to be financial problems ahead. Serious problems.
3 times CL in 4 yrs, more TV money in Belgium, Sold players for a lot of money recently, wealthy owner. But also don't believe these rumours. Club is not going to pay someone 65k a week. Maybe 50k at best .
