Don't know what the board or managers opinion is. Just my thoughts: I would sell Hubert, keep Gabulov as second goalie and try to get Horvath to go on loan to a decent team. Hubert is not good enough, Gabulov is an experienced goalie, they tend to do better as stand in. Horvath needs to play at his age. If he can get a good season elsewhere who knows what happens next. I still believe in his abilities, but he has to work on his lesser points and the best way to do that is getting some more experience.
More significant. Steua are the sort of side Brugge would play because they want to be tested. If Ethan started, it means he has a decent shot at being first-choice.
If I'm translating correctly, Ethan just pulled a last year Ethan and whiffed on a cross off a free kick. Didn't lead to a goal, but I'm pretty sure that's the last thing he and the club want to see in a friendly.
I'm surprised they keep him around. He seems to rarely play. Maybe they just have to keep 1 Belgian keeper on staff.
True. But, a coach seeing that in a friendly may say: “Let’s not give him the opportunity to do that in the Champions League.”
Club Brugge KVVerified account @ClubBrugge 2h2 hours ago 76' Horvath pakt heel knap de penalty van Tanase en ook in de herneming heeft hij een mooie save in huis! Het blijft 1-1 #BoeClu
I'm curious if he made any mention of his recent troubles at the club and battling back to finish the season at no.1 btw I noticed that his Russian competition was named to their WC squad. But of course hasn't played due to Akeenfiv (poor spelling I'm sure).
Here's the replay from yesterday's match (FCSB had a stream). Their goal occurs at ~1:08:45. Also some clarification - Ethan went 70 mins and was subbed for Hubert
Just watched the video - I think the only goal he conceded was an own goal? Didn't look like Bucharesti had any players in the box and it definitely deflected off the Brugge defender. Just hard to see if there was a player who tapped it in back post or not.
Dutch. Flemish dialects are usually not used for official communication. Though Belgian Dutch has some other words and expressions than Dutch in the Netherlands. You can compare it to British English vs American English
Technically it wasn’t Steaua. Due to a recent court case that ruled that the sale of the club years ago was illegal, the club is not allowed to call themselves Steaua and now go by FCSB. There is another club now in the lower divisions with the right to call themselves Steaua, and who claim to be the legitimate Steaua.
