There were some rumours about a loan to Lyngby in Denmark, but things didn't work out. Don't know why. Would be better if he played, maybe MLS is an option? Team has gone from playing best football in the last ten years (first half against charleroi) to playing some abysmal bad matches in the last four weeks.
what exactly is the reason for that? how's the new keeper? I'd rather he not give MLS an option. Weren't there some relegation fodder clubs in Belgium who might have eyed him?
Why not? Steffen is a perfect example of how coming back home isn't a death sentence. He's been shining for Columbus and as a result is now ahead of Horvath in the depth chart. Horvath needs to play and staying in Europe just to be in Europe isn't doing him any good.
I agree. Though Steffen was a no.3 at a mid-table or lower club in the Bundesliga. Horvath was brought to challenge for no.1 at the best club in Belgium. I hope he remains in Belgium.
He's at an age where you need to play to improve. In his case, improve his self confidence. To quote a great English spy, he needs to find his mojo.Maybe that's easier in a "lower quality" league. And easier if you can go on loan for a whole season. It's still early to assess the new keeper, but you can see he is experienced and calm. The defence has been struggling though, although the keeper seems to be actively coaching his defence. Transfers of keepers during winter break mostly happens due to injuries. And a team that is in a relegation battle and wants to change goalies will bring in someone experienced, not someone doubting his own abilities.
So, Brugge picked up another keeper. 5 keepers throughout the season. Maybe they're going for the record
Guess they gave up on Ethan. If he looks as nervous in training and he looks in actual games, can't blame them.
Nasty. Really nasty. Fair too, at least at the time. FWIW, Rubin may be turning things around at Tijuana: eligible for seven Liga MX games he's made the squad in the last two, going 90' in one and subbed in on the hour in the second.
This is crazy. How does a club go through 5 keepers in 8 months. At least Ethan has placed the highest number of games this season.
Yep. Then again, is that a bad thing? Maybe he's not/was never going to be a No. 10/SS. He's getting PT at a good level. That's enough for now. And if his problem was mental, if his confidence returns he may wind up playing in the middle again
Soccerway shows Horvath having played 12 of the 25 games of the season (not sure if that's simply league matches they're counting).
Ethan was on the bench today for Club Brugge. First time in the squad since November. Russian international Vladimir Gabulov started. En dit zijn onze XI! Wie is er klaar om te #BluvnGoan?! #AndClu pic.twitter.com/KfNgdOwxMM— Club Brugge KV (@ClubBrugge) April 15, 2018
It's def good news. Hopefully they give him another shot in the pre-season. I'm just amazed what he's done the past few months since he hasn't made the bench. did he train or play for the reserves?
