That should have been offside call. If 3 guys in offside positions in front of you isn't a distraction then I don't know what is.
can't believe that farce was the winning the goal. this was the other goal conceded in the game. gotta feel bad for Horvath, 4 goals conceded in 3 games and 2 were dreadful almost joke like and the other 2 weren't that great either.
Neither goal is really "on" Horvath. 4 goals in 3 games isn't so terrible. Nothing that should cost his position. The more games he gets the better for the Gold Cup, where he might be in line to start for us.
but these goals could end up costing Brugge CL, they lost against a lower team. Final game is against team #3 in the standing, if they lose then no CL.
didn't say they weren't bad losses. perhaps the first was "saveable" by someone like Neuer. the second goal he kinda got caught out, but they had three forward "in" so unlikely he could ever save it, even if he does close the first guy down better.
Hopefully that will be both a victory and a cleansheet. He has the summer to rest before going back as no.1 Hopefully Arena doesn't call him in for the Gold Cup. He can use that for Hamid and Bingham.
I'm actually neutral on him. Neither a fan nor a hater. he's only 21 years old, too early to say whether he'll amount to anything. Needs more than a few caps in Belgium and Norway for that. and my post was not a slight on him, just pointing out that a ridiculous goal conceded, which isn't only on him also on the defense cost the team 3 pts. And they risk losing out on CL qualifiers going into the final game of the season.
Late runners on a "trap" are a pain. I guess the defenders should have realized the goalscorer was onsides and tracked him and Horvath probably should have not stopped advancing and closed more ground, but such a messed up play that happens so rarely that it is hard to expect any of them to process that at the time.
Brugge's last game vs 3rd place Gent is tomorrow at 8:30 AM EST. a win or draw and Brugge goes to the CL playoff, a loss and on to Europa.
Nah - nobody is even trying to mark them. They are as inactive and out of the play as you could want... A bit of marking on the fellow that scored, now that would be novel. even more, this is the problem with having backs who don't trust their ball skills. That RCD has a play on the ball and tons of space in front of him, but he opts to try for the OS call. Why not play that ball? 'Cause you have no faith in your skills.
Keeper's not playing them. Keeper's vision isn't blocked. Defender just counted on OS, and didn't take into consideration a players who is in his line of sight. Sloppy, lazy defending.
Defenders were awful but the keeper's reaction is WTF is going on. Four guys with the ball in front of me, all are moving. Should I stay? Should I go? How far?
That is not how the law/advice is intended. Distracted does not mean "I don't understand how to play this situation." Horvath's indecision is because he also thought it was OS. (I also doubt he ever gets that ball.) Player had all the time in the world.
