Yikes, I understood the keeper was on the way out. Not the best sign for Horvath as an immediate contender for the national team.
Yeah, unless this is an extension signed so Brugge can get more value in a transfer, it looks very bad for Ethan for years now.
I think quite a shock for all of us. I thought he was out this summer and that he was a so-so keeper. DAMN
Plus how does 1 declare him GK of the year? 3 months left in the season. I guess unless they mean for 2016 and in that case it's bizarre that they don't designate the award at the end of the season.
Well, trying to put a positive spin on this, if the starting GK really is the best in the league, contract extension or not, chances are some team from a bigger league will come in with a substantial bid for him. If Brugge likes what they have in Horvath, they'd probably be inclined to cash in.
Well Ludovic Butelle is about to turn 34 and has played most of his games in the lower divisions of France so chances of someone putting in a substantial bid are slim I would think. I'm not sure what the situation is down in Brugge but Brugge spending $1million dollars or so on Horvath is a good sign. I guess we will just have to wait and see how things shake out at the beginning of next season.
