That seems like a good compromise. The team gets the comfort of knowing they'll have a solid #2 for the rest of the season, and Horvath knows he'll get a legit shot elsewhere in ~5 months.
Honestly, if he transfers somewhere, it'll be hard to watch him anyway. There are so many Yanks everywhere now... and so many U21 yanks. Great problem to have! I hope Hovrath does get on somewhere with regular playing time. He has a lot of great potential!

They'll play Horvath after the window closes. Right now, they keep him seated so no one offers enough to make him picket the club with a placard.
Does not matter they paid $7m for him he would have to have a howler every single game for him to be benched. If Horvath were to make this mistake he would have been crucified.
Latest update ...clubs close to making a deal, but will be for summer move as Clement does not want to lose him now in case Mignolet gets injured. He will move in summer and come in as number 1. McBride called Brugge last week to check on Ethans status. Hopefully deal gets done will give him incentive to continue to work hard.
Good news. Brugge would surely have let him go if an acceptable backup for Mignolet was available. There wasn't, and there wasn't likely to be. Not in January. In some respects it's a compliment to Ethan from Brugge. They're really saying, "You're not easy to replace, and we have confidence in your professionalism going forward."
