(aerial photo was taken prior to latest phase of construction both inside and outside of the stadium.)

The roof has since been completed with the exception of an opening to allow for the following:

El estadio Victoria cuenta con un espectáculo adicional ya que se le instalaron unas fuentes saltarinas las cuales hacen una delicia al espectador ya que estas forman parte del espectáculo del medio tiempo, además de que son las encargadas de festejar los goles a su manera del equipo Necaxa.

    A restaurant has been added.

The surrounding streets have been replaced with beautiful pedestrian walkways.

Does Audax Italiano play on Synthetic Turf?

I ask because of a video on their website:

    http://www.audaxitaliano.cl/index.php

The video is in the upper right hand corner of the homepage.

I cannot find a stadium link.

Here is another photo of home to Club Necaxa, Estadio Victoria.

As you can see, the roof and pedestrian walkway were both being completed on the north end of the stadium when this photo was taken.

If you look closely you can see the water for the fountain show on the south end of the stadium.

I went over to the Chile forum and found the answer to my question.

    Gracias MetroChile!

My new question is... does Copa Libertadores have a no synthetic turf clause.

I ask, because regardless of the size of their stadium, if I were Audax Italiano, I would want to play in my own stadium in front of the home crowd.

For Necaxa's sake, I am glad that the game will not be played on the synthetic turf.

They have a size clause. Stadiums must hold 20,000

Also, Paraná does NOT play at Pinheirão, as pictured above, since their stadium was approved for 20,000 after a year of renovations. (They only sell 18,000 tickets per game though, for safety reasons)

They play at Vila Capanema, a former world cup stadium

They may play Flamengo at Couto Pereira, which is Coritiba's stadium since it holds more people.

I thought America (Mex) weren't allowed to play at home? How long was the "ban" for?

Nobody should have to go and play in that stadium, it's unsafe and the ban should be maintained for as long as it's necessary to teach them how to behave like people.

As I remember it got pretty ugly when Sao Paulo face off against River Plate in estadio do Morumbi, it got so out of control that the match was called due to the violence in the stand...damn fans can't behave them selfs!

It was actually the River Plate fans causing the raucus, not the Sao Paulo fans if I remember correctly.

Yes, the Police fought the River fans, not the Sao Paulo ones. Still, River's bus was bombarded by several huge rocks before entering the stadium.

Either way, I don't remember the match being suspended/called off..

That's correct. The River fans were the ones causing the trouble and to be honest, they got away it a lot that day. The police took easy on them and they took a lot of crap from the river fans. Honestly I think they should have been arrested (at least the agitators). I doubt it that brasilian fans would behave the same way in Argentina and not get their a$$ kicked by the police. I've traveled to Argentina by car and bus in the past and we had to pay bribes all the way (when they took all our money they were accepting even sodas as bribes) so go figure. Police in Brasil sucks just as much btw.

Ah! I think I've figured it out.. If I am correct, he meant Corinthians instead of Sao Paulo. Odd confusion, but could be possible.

Nevermind.. That match was played in the Pacaembu, not the Morumbi.. Unless he confused those two stadiums as well. :p
