Round 4 Preview Show if anyone's trying to sneak that in before today's kickoffs http://www.espn.com/watch/player?id=907fd535-9029-42ba-86d5-152e8e71ca08
ESPN+ has been a PHENOMENAL subscription! Annual rate comes to $4.40/month. Less than a grande latte.
Thanks. Hopefully some day the people who run their website will make it possible/easy to browse for shows like this. When I went to their Watch page, then the FA Cup section and "Show All" it lists the upcoming matches, and even the forthcoming 5R Draw show... but nor 4R Preview Show! Some day, some day.
Especially now that UFC events are included. Not that it wasn’t a steal before. For me, the rugby, cricket and tennis is worth the price even before the football is factored in. Heck, the 30 for 30 archive alone is worth 5 bucks a month.
Watch > Schedule & Replays > Replay > Thu 24 > Soccer Also available in the Shows index (Watch > Shows > All) http://www.espn.com/watch/collections/10511/shows
Nice to see that the FA has fixed their scoreboard graphics. Gone is that stupid switch to a red font with zero contrast when it goes into injury time. Much more legible the new graphic.
The FA Cup graphics are different than those used for the Championship and the League Cup. Those still have the red front on the dark blue background for stoppage time, they were just used yesterday for the LC semifinal.
Aha. Then the folks at the EFL need to take some cues from the FA or the EPL or the multitude of others who do this more legibly.
Will ESPN be broadcasting Copa America from Brazil this summer? Just watched the draw for it on the ESPN app. Will it be in English?
I read about the draw being on the app and thought it was a mistake. Maybe they are trying to get the English rights. At this point nobody really seems to want to broadcast this in English though.
Why do they always invite Japan? I understand Qatar I guess because of the next WC. But I think CONCACAF teams should be invited if they need more teams.
From what I remember Japan back in 1999 brought a good amount of money and sponsors and television revenue to the table and South America gave it a thumbs up. They could not invite CONCACAF teams this year because the Gold Cup is happening at the same time.
IT is going to be a jam packed summer of Futbol really, all over the world. Gold Cup, Copa America, African Cup of Nations, Women's World Cup all being played in roughly the same time frame.
So now that my team is out of both EFL & FA Cups, I'm not sure I have any need for ESPN+ any more... at least maybe until April or May when the FA semis & final are on. Does anyone have any experience suspending their ESPN+ subscription and then restarting it several months later? Are there any gotchas?
So if a person hadn't watched any FA Cup matches over Sat/Sun and stayed away from results, and wanted to watch the FA Cup Review Show on ESPN+, remind me again how that person would find such on the "Watch" pages? Or even just confirm that they're planning on making it available?
ESPN+ > Shows (all) > FA Cup Highlights Show. Here's the page where tomorrow's show will appear at some point - no spoilers on it: http://www.espn.com/watch/series/a75c60c4-315d-4f20-b54a-882cbf45d0a1/fa-cup-weekly-highlight-show
Thanks. The link works but I'd rather browse, so I figured out what you mean: Click ESPN+ (don't hover over it's submenus which are useless), then scroll down to Shows, then See All... et voila there it is! With any luck the 4R show will pop-up tomorrow, and I guess then the 3R show will go poof (because of some baffling rights reason?)
I think they might get retired after a month. Not sure. Also, reminder, the show isn't good. Not all the matches and goals. Maybe that improves with only 16 matches to deal with in 27 minutes
I haven't yet read anything about English-language rights in the U.S. Telemundo, which is owned by NBCUniversal, won the Spanish-language rights this time around. There's no guarantee anyone will buy English-language rights without the U.S. participating and most who're interested likely to watch in Spanish anyway. The last event held in South America was on beIN Sports (2015); the one before that (2011) was only on Univision.
Will we ever find out how ESPN is doing in regards to the number of subscribers for ESPN plus? Also is streaming sports mainstream now? How many people actually do it on a regular basis. I talk to a fair number of sports fans in their late 20's and 30's and they say they do not stream any sports at all. Just curious.
