https://www.thebluetestament.com/20...ines-the-new-former-player-update-sporting-kc "Then tonight came the crushing news for KC fans as Benny Feilhaber was traded to Los Angeles FC for allocation money. Also of note, I have added Erik Palmer-Brown to this list as he is now out of contract, but since the much reported move to Manchester City has not been officially announced he is listed under the “Active without a club or unknown” section for right now."
A little bad advice/mismanagement has really gone along way. I hope this unravels and this guy can continue to follow his dream.
From what I understand it was City Football Group who bought him, so they could use him as they see fit, which could mean going to any of the teams under the CFG shield, or the feeder/training clubs like Breda & Girona, or just put him to serve the drinks when they meet in the City Golf Club & Plaza.
It would be interesting, if the CFG is with whom he signed a contract and not ManCity, what the consequences are as the CFG isnot a member of a FA. AFAIK it is impossible to be property of a non footballing organization when you play pro football.
Maybe the bastards read this thread and love the suspense and have the news right under the button and are saying: wait..wait.. until its 'januari 31st 23:59:50 wait ..push
He had an offer from one of the best teams at developing/playing young talent, but signed with one of the worst?
It was in that loan watch or something article... that was posted in here or youth yanks abroad thread
so you agree that the 24th day is different than the 5th? and I still think y'all are acting like a bunch of clucking hens EPB is good. EPB will have a club. If the club is right for EPB will be determined largely by hindsight.
stop me if im wrong, but isnt the fear here that due to byzantine legal rules and lackadaisical attempts to adhere to them that he may, in fact, not have a club in 2017, which would mean roughly 3 years of minimal game time in his most crucial development window?
2018 you mean, I think... Not really, I get the impression the fear is that because we haven't heard anything doom is imminent... He's 20 for another 4 months, and in the past 2 calendar years it appears he's had 17 appearances with Porto B, 10 in the league with SKC, 5 with Swope Park, presumably some additional USOC games, in addition to pretty high level U20 play. It's basically the playing time any defender is going to get if he's seen as the 3rd or 4th defender...a mix of starts, substitute appearances and B-team games that adds up to almost a full season's worth over 2 seasons. For me, if he signed a pre-contract with Man City they are a professional organization and will find a good spot for him maybe not the best but something to allow progression. If he didn't sign one then he is available on a free and will have options. For those worrying about Agudelo - I think the blame for Agudelo's development is not that he missed important times, but that he was willing to miss important times. And if EPB is willing to follow that path he's not going to be the player he could become anyway. Mostly though, I think that even if he just trains at Man City for the next 6 months he will improve because it is Man City.
It depend on how much you rate EPB. IF EPB isn't "any" young defender (at least in the US scheme of things) but one with the potential to be an elite level player, THEN his paltry list of action, during two prime development years, looks very underwhelming and might even be construed as career mismanagement when compared to the trajectory of other elite level talents. If he's an MLS level lifetime defender...downtime for more tattoos won't make a large difference.
