The Odyssey continues: Erik Palmer-Brown at Panathinaikos

Discussion in 'Yanks Abroad' started by BostonRed, Jan 24, 2014.

  1. A deadly comment on the CD duo from AD Sportwereld:
Het constant niet oplettende centrale verdedigingsduo Mets en Koch liet Guus Til volledig vrijstaan vlak voor rust. Het betekende de verdiende openingstreffer voor AZ dat daarna nog wel even schrok van een poging van Gervane Kastaneer. Evenveel vrijheid kreeg Til na rust na een fraaie pass van Stengs: 2-0. Pas echt goed speelde AZ na de 2-0 toen de winst al binnen was en er naar hartenlust gecombineerd kon worden.

    google translate:
The constantly unaware central defense duo Mets and Koch left Guus Til completely free just before rest. It meant the deserved opening goal for AZ, which afterwards was still shocked by an attempt by Gervane Kastaneer. Just after the break, after a nice pass from Stengs, Til was given a 2-0 score. Only really good AZ played after the 2-0 when the win was already inside and could be combined to your heart's content.

  2. You can't keep fielding those guys with the ratings they get. The problem is you need to remove both. Only one for EPB doesnot change things.
NAC simply is screwed this season.

surely the manager has to have the great idea of playing Erik. If your current defenders are crap; then playing Erik for a match or 2 can't be too damn risky.

Everything that happens to EPB is really bizarre. I recall a short video where Adams, Sargent and some big CB from U-20 team had a friendly banter. That third guy was absolutely sure that he is faster than Adams. Was that EPB? Can't find that.

    CCV

It was actually both CCV and EPB

Adams saying he's faster than EPB running backwards is classic

Comparing where he is now to where the other best players in the 2017 U20 WC are is depressing.

I just looked at the stat line for the game today vs. Ajax. The good news--he played 90. The bad news--they lost 5-0, and he scored an OG.

If it helps, he wasn't the Breda player to do so.

Benched forever and they play him away to the strongest team. Not exactly the setup for success.

The own-goal was a deflection. More unlucky than a sign of ineptitude. Although there were some of the latter.

Good news … Breda is not yet losing, and EPB hasn't yet tripped over his own verga during the first 8 minutes.

Breda is hard to watch. This team, offensively, has no ideas.

I constantly hear about how bad Breda's defending is, but having zero offense makes defending much more difficult.

WhoScored gives EPB an 8.4 on the day.

That's the highest score of the match among players for either team, fifth among all players of the Eredivisie matchday, and significantly higher than any of his previous Breda matches. Well done EPB.

  25. From the highlights I watched he did well.
