21 y/o RW Eric Lickert made his 8th appearance for Freiburg II & scored in a 2-0 victory on Saturday as they remain atop the Oberliga table— Nats Abroad (@Nats_Abroad) October 24, 2016
This should've said "their Oberliga table". They're in Oberliga Baden-Württemberg, one of about fifteen separate leagues.
It's a big jump from the fifth division to the Bundesliga. But Lickert doesn't turn 22 until next summer maybe he's still got a few levels ahead of him.
To make matters more difficult from his perspective, the club also looks like they've found their groove again. From nearly earning their first ever CL qualification in 12/13 to relegation in 14/15 they sit in a respectable 8th place with wins coming from the likes of Frankfurt and Gladbach.
Scored in Freiburg II's win over CfR Pforzheim. Freiburg II, which was relegated from Regionalliga last year, now sits at the top of its Oberliga in Germany's fifth tier. http://www.badische-zeitung.de/sport/scfreiburg/den-kampf-angenommen--129507844.html http://www.doppelpass-online.de/artikel/ol-bw-sc-freiburg-ii-1-cfr-pforzheim-1-0-0-0/ After a few half chances Eric Lickert scored the only goal of the day: The Pforzheimer defense gave him too much space in the penalty area, Lickert consummate dry inside the far post (58).
Freiburg II won the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg title and promotion back to the Regionalliga Südwest. Lickert played in 25 games, mostly on the wing, and contributed 3 goals and 2 assists. Lickert's contract expires this summer and this article confirms he is leaving the club: http://www.badische-zeitung.de/spor...ist-beim-sc-freiburg-ii-gross--137318928.html
Eric Lickert has signed with FC 08 Homburg, who play in Oberliga Rheinland-Pfalz/Saar signed yesterday 7/8/2017
He's made ten appearances this season, all off the bench. On the bright side, Homburg are having a halfway decent season in the Oberliga Rheinland-Pfalz/Saar: 21-0-0 with 70 goals scored and 9 goals conceded.
Homburg really fell off at the end of the season and only had a mere 10-3-2 record after this point... They won the league by 17 points and had a +92 GD. Lickert was a spot starter on the squad and he has one more year on his contract as Homburg moves to the Regionalliga Südwest. @TheFalseNine This thread could use a title change - Eric Lickert at Homburg
Now that Homburg has moved up to the fourth tier, Lickert has moved down to the sixth tier: he's been playing regularly for Homburg II in the Saarlandliga.
Now at Wormatia Worms: https://www.wormatia.de/archiv/spieler-datenbank/spieler-steckbrief.html?spielerid=1335 Seems to have gotten good reviews for a recent performance for the Wormsmen: https://nibelungen-kurier.de/wormatia-ist-oben-dran/
