Before Matic he was the signing I was aghast about, what was SAF thinking. One of the lead signing indicating our decline.

We need a manager who knows how to build a squad and a DOF who knows how to get him his players. Poch and a decent DOF would be nice but even then I don’t trust Ed to give them the money they would need. I honestly don’t see a solution to our current problem. It may get even worse before it gets any better.

AWB is an elite defender but man he looks rough in attack. He doesn’t cross the ball, he just swings a leg at it.

Agreed. It’s clear that Ed is the roadblock to getting in a DOF or it would have happened by now. My hunch is that the job has been offered to some candidates but once they heard that it was a figurehead position without any power they withdrew their names. I think we’ll get one in by next summer, but nothing will change because Ed will have final say in everything.

 

Woodward to leak some BS rumors about how we’re looking at a DOF in 3...2...

 

Some poor management from Ole for sure.

However is simple numbers for me - 7 out and only 3 in during the window from Woodward.

So we are net; -2 CMs -1 striker, -1 defender.

The defender we can cover, but the lack or replacements in midfield or attack is killing us.

 

Will probably only watch games with Martial, Greenwood or Gomes starting. Everyone else is boring.
