Not sure we can afford a player in his position who doesn't assist or score in this team - we are no Barca.

Not having a player who can regularly find the final pass (and score the odd goal) is what is killing us more than anything (especially with Pogs injured).

It is truly brave of you to predict that we would score more then 1 in a game the rest of the season.

Crucially needed as well. Nice to have a proper RB manning the position, finally.

Better hope that Pogs will return in time for Arsenal. Even more than Martial, if he's not available, we be effed vs the Gooners.

    I don't think he's terrible on the ball. I think that's a gross exaggeration.

I'm about done with this discussion tho. I think it is fair to say we don't see things eye to eye.

We don't have a penetrative passer in midfield we don't have energy in midfield, we don't have clever dribbling anywhere on the pitch. If we are going to play a 10 who maybe won't get on the ball very often but might chip in with an assist, we may as well play Gomes because he's at least got energy and enthusiasm.

What you need to understand notjohno, is this isn't nearly as bad as it could be. Pogba could be playing. What a disaster that would be.

Fair enough. I honestly don’t think it’s an exaggeration. In in agreement that Jesse is more useful than his numbers lead on...when his movement off the ball is at its best. I maintain that besides ball carrying in transition, he’s very poor on the ball. His passing isn’t great, he’s not creative, he can’t dribble, and his control is pretty average.

Would rather we as a club recognised we needed a started quality advanced creator to match other teams ...

Given what we have, would rather we start with a midfield 3 and exercise some control over games.

Both Mata and Lingard could contribute later in games as subs when there is more space to be found.

Pathetic defending. Almost every defender was flat footed and ball watching. Our entire team looks gassed. Matić stood 8 yards off Noble like he was afraid of getting dribbled....by ********ing Noble.

West Ham have significantly more attacking talent on the field than we do. Pretty damn sad.

Why the ******** is Mata our furthest guy forward when we’re building up? What possible sense does that make?

Not good from Harry, but poor pressure on the ball from our midfield.

Like I said above, away from home compromising our midfield to a 2 by playing a toothless #10 is a broken concept.

HT: 1-0, WH. Mediocre performance so far. We offer little to nothing going forward.
Really wished Ole would ditch the 4-2-3-1 and go 4-3-3, particularly with Fred now a viable option in midfield. Should have started today, without question.

Bring on Fred for Mata push Pereira at the 10. Matic is useless along with AY. Yarmolenko was AY when he went to the back of the line.

Yup. Matic is usually dog shit, but I can't imagine 3 games in a week would have improved his ability to do something other than ******** up royally.

We have no shape, no purpose, no poise. We need about 5 o 6 subs.

I'd start w/ Fred for Matic and Gomes for Mata at the half. Save Jesse for the hour mark.

Mata looks a shattered footballer. Might as well bring on Lingard in the second half.

That is ideal. Ole will not leave McT by himself.

Matic sets a really poor tempo to both our midfield pressing and our midfield passing.

If Ole wants energy and pace in our game, he cant afford to stick with static Matic.
