FT: 1-0. Big, big win for United today. Wasn't pretty, especially in the 2nd half but got the win that we needed to avoid falling further back. The lack of creativity when Pogs is not there, is clearly a concern though.

 

McT with the poor clearance leading to the shot by Ndidi, I swore that was gonna be the mistake that killed us.

But then McT did a great job of time wasting.

Ole deserves a mention for his subs today and we better hope he'll have learned something today and build upon it. Taking off Matic first, then Mata spoke volume to me, particularly given the situation at the time. Need to see more of that going forward from Ole (with those guys mainly as reserve options and not starters, no matter what).
We just need to look at Chelsea with Lampard trusting the kids there and staying with them: it's going to pay off in the long run. And the transfer ban is no excuse either, as he could have stuck with veterans but they're on the bench with the kids playing the bulk of the mins and games.
Ole could do better than he has so far in that department and hopefully with the games coming thick and fast, we'll see the kids getting more opportunities. Also, he needs to give Fred an extended run.

 

Yup, we looked like a completely better side. Rashford didn't ******** up a penalty. What an all time great.

 

We won't always look great.

But the menality to grind to a win was in a collective today.

There was no bone headed moment that cost us the points, because the bone head was in the stands.

 

Not one person on that pitch was capable of class. If Leicester didn't give us that pen, we would have never scored. You golden child managed how many shots on goal? We are still waiting on the 10-15 goals from Greenwood you said he was gonna have this year? And we had plenty of stupid play and poor clearances in our box like Ndidi's miss at the death but they missed.

 

So glad Pogba wasn't on the pitch to make Rashford miss a penalty, and to make sure a real winner is on the pitch to find all those excellent runs he makes.

 

Let's not forget the additional mental pressure he was

My choice as well for MotM today: someone needed to step up in midfield with Pogs out and he certainly did.

 

The most insane thing to me is that off that combined eleven were the 3 guys we bought in the summer!

 

Not his fault Shaw is injury prone. Don’t blame the player here, blame the people who keep employed. He’s just doing the job he is paid to do. To be fair he wasn’t that bad today.
