Mata or Rashford have killed every single counter attack. Mata can't complete a pass and Rash makes the wrong run 90% of the time.

That he has, he's been fouled and not had it called and the freekick he conceded was never a foul.

Fred needs a month or so at least to get used to the pace and physical nature of the prem. He's been caught wanting an extra touch maybe 4 times 35 minutes.

i think we should try rashford on the right à la mbappe. he's not a no 9, at least by himself.

Sanchez doing his bit defensively is commendable, but he's way too deep sometimes and it's one less outlet we could be looking for on the break.

    Our attack is awful.

He's not as useless in that spot, like Martial and in a Mourinho coached team, playing wide is probably the best option for him.
Also, I really like Mata, but seeing him as our nominal RW irks me to no end.

    No surprises in terms of our weaknesses;

    - full-backs
    - Mata @ RWF
    - Rash is not effective in an isolated single-striker role - not his gig

Lukaku will make a massive difference for us offensively.

Another season, another static squad. No movement when we have the ball.

we've had far too many cheap turnovers of possession

Hoping that he will have a great season, but Sanchez is still a possession turnover machine.

1st half of the 1st game of the season.

Kohler is a sponsor? The sink people?

    Don't like the jersey particularly.

Bailly is going to get himself in trouble with those studs up lunges.

It's a continuation from last season.

Midfield looks great in moments. Forwards haven't impressed. Fullbacks are... not good.

Started so well, but it didn't take long to fall back into the nasty habits from the second half of last season.
We're leading but Leicester have been dangerous and we need to get another goal at least, as a safety net. Don't see just one cutting it, as far as victory is concerned.

:thumbsdown:Most probably 9 more months of this. It's actually very sad watching our players just hang back and cede possession of the ball at home..without even a half effective counter.

Shaw has been fine, especially compared to Darmian.

    ok, glass half-full:
    - we have a proper midfield, at last.
    - bailly and lindelof could become our cb partenership for the next 5 years.
    - de gea is still de gea.
    - replace rashford/mata by lukaky/martial, and it's actually pretty decent going forward.

now, the full backs are shit and we knew that in may. we should have sold all of them and bought 3 new like city did last year. meuniner, sandro and sidibe for cover would have been transformational.

High point without a doubt for me. For their first appearance together, there is something to build upon there and be excited about, if they get the chance to grow together.

Agreed. It makes you wonder if he's really this bad or if his confidence has just been beaten to a pulp. He was good the first month he joined and has looked like a rec league player since then.

I thought AP was really good. Fred looked decent, needs some more time to settle in. Is Martial on the bench or no?
