Just conversing with you, nothing more... Something else I wanted to add: our schedule has definitely been very soft, but it's worth pointing out that in the previous seasons, we would have dropped tons of points in that stretch as well.
I did not respond in said fashion. I actually enjoyed the game. Not that it was a great game to watch but with the outcome never in doubt I had a chance to key in on certain players like Jones and Fellaini. Jones was fantastic. Apart from the two goals, Fellaini was painful to watch. But that's a bit like Mrs. Lincoln offering her thoughts on My American Cousin. Bottom line is that Fellaini scored goals that allowed us to stroll through the park.
I'm very calm. I'm curious why you can't your own advice and this to PM, if you've got anything else to say? What's good for the goose, son...
The international break comes at a bad time for United - Mourinho www.skysports.com/football/news/11667/11061733/jose-mourinho-says-manchester-united-not-helped-by-international-break
I know it's already been said...but Matic has been an absolute beast so far this season. It's easy too gloss over what he does when we win by 4 all the time.....but you just watch him..and he charges down players\counters...directs the team when in defence...pushes forward when space arises....spreads long balls all over the pitch...and even charges into the box at times.... ...he is basically holding that midfield on his own while playing with Pogba or Fellaini.
Juan Mata and Chris Smalling outside in the rain at Old Trafford signing autographs. Always nice… https://t.co/MqlrKIow9R— Rob Dawson (@RobDawsonESPN) September 30, 2017
Mata on Fellaini's performance. www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/man-utd-juan-mata-fellaini-13698959 Fellaini was awarded the MotM award today as well...
I've always felt DM is most under appreciated position in football and has one of , if not the most significant influence on a team.
There's no doubt that if you deliver Fellaini a perfect cross inside the 6 yard box that chances are he'll score. With this kind of result we'll take his two goals and celebrate a great victory, but I hope red mancs around the world understand that his limitations remain unchanged.
Happy to see that from Mike and Juan. A more lethal striker would have 20 goals in the first week of October? GTFO
I kinda believe that too. That Jose is trying to manage his minutes early because by a 3rd of the way into the season, he will flog him like a donkey. I just wish he would ease up on Rom too. Maybe start Rash or Martial at 9 with Lingard on the wing in an EFLC game or against Brighton or Huddersfield when we face them.
Our failure to properly dispatch of teams like this last season killed us. I am still upset we didn't beat Stoke.
The guy has allowed pogba to be free to push up and Mhiki/Mata to not worry about staying up and attacking. I wasn't sure about his purchase but I am happy to be proven wrong.
Even his most strident skeptics over the summer can't deny now that Matic was a great buy. If there's just one quibble I would have with Mourinho so far in his use of Matic is that he's played him too much IMHO. When we're pounding clubs in the second half it might be good to sub Matic off for Carrick (who's now out, however). Fellaini can sit back out lopsided wins, as can Herrera. I'd hate to see Matic burn out in April, when his services will be required against City and Arsenal.
More than just running Herrera to the ground late in the season, I just think that Jose, like SAF used to, has planned when and how certain players will be called into action. Now some will say that Pogs's injury changes all that, but I'm not so sure about it, especially with Fellaini doing the job (even if it's always pretty). He's scored 4 goals so far, which is far more than what we could hope for. As mentioned, Herrera's time is coming, starting in all likelyhood after the international break vs Pool at Anfield. In big games, part of Jose's plan is going to take out their big threat, especially in midfield (guys like KDB, Coutinho, Hazard etc...) and Herrera with his tenacious, relentless side is the perfect guy for the job. Furthermore, we haven't heard a peep from him complaining either. While I'm sure he wants to play as much as possible, he's also very much a team player and I'm sure he's been made fully aware by Jose of his plans for him. And as the pro he is, he will be ready and deliver top notch performances.
