Phil Jones reminds me of the guy from Kung Pow: Enter the Fist who was trained wrong by his master as a joke.
The hiring of David Moyes remains to this the most disastrous day in recent United history going back when we were relegated by a defeat in the early 1970s. We still haven't recovered from it.
It must be something we're "working on". It's clearly some sort of plan. But amazingly we're pairing it with having our wingers as wide as possible, with a 10 who makes ineffective runs. The point of a 9 dropping is usually that you create a diamond with the midfield and the wingers come inside - in a 4-2-3-1 the 10 has to be a second striker to justify it. Everything we're doing at the moment is a classic case of a lack of joined up thinking, combined with a silent internal scream inside the heads of each player akin to England v Iceland, that humiliation and failure is inevitable.
What's the point of Gomes making matchday squads is what I wonder? If we're not going to play him, why even bother? And we're surprised he could be on his way out...
classic Wan-Bissaka control. also, Greenwood is never winning those dinked balls over the top. stop it
I think I've finally reached the point where I'm past caring. We barely have enough healthy bodies to field a senior team, much less the quality to compete with the top 4. Our DOF cant even complete a single transfer when hes had 4+ months since the last one and our needs are obvious. And we have a manager that looks competely out of his depth and is being given no help from the higher ups. This is the new Manchester United. Might as well stop fighting it and accept it.
I mean, if today does not spur the board to action, we can pretty much give it for real for the remainder of the season because we're done. If it was already coordinated, right about now would have been the perfect time for a walkout. Even if a few thousands fans were to take part, it will be noticeable enough. This is not ok...
You know on one hand, I can understand they wasted a lot of money the first few years after SAF left. But on the other hand, they wasted the money, because of who they put in charge. The new way of not spending money is not going to fix anything though.
Anyone that still defends Ole after bringing on Luke Shaw while down 2 goals is out of their mind. Thats a sackable offense in itself.
Reminder:STILL there are non-United/United fans who believe Paul Pogba makes no difference to this team. pic.twitter.com/e2ZKjLLMgR— UtdArena (@UtdArena) January 22, 2020 NO SHIT!!!!!
He's building something, back the manager. Ole's at the wheel, we're heading in the right direction, he knows the club. United DNA and all that jazz. [Insert Glazers or Ed Woodward here excuses here]
This will be a game that adds to the idea that our defence is improved. Our xGA will be tiny. Our xG will be higher. But nobody watching is drawing the conclusion that this is anywhere near ok. We have a bad team out there but there is no way that we're getting anywhere near the best out of them. Our backroom staff and manager all have to change.
I find it so weird that the stadium is this empty. For almost 20 years it was always, always full. They'd expand the stadium and it'd just fill immediately. I know people are leaving early right now, but look at it.
Need more things like this to happen. The disapproval from the supporters needs to be visible, audible, public, and it needs to hurt the Glazers wallet. Only then will they maybe make some changes that matter.
