Yeah you get the feeling that even though bowen turned them down at the time, they will come back with the offer of building a team around him if he carries on getting looked past for the u21s
I love Pep but got to be honest, at 3-0 up I was disappointed not to see Foden get on the pitch. Starting to think a loan might be a option this transfer window even though it won’t happen unless Pep has a change of heart.
There’s an article in The Times about him but unfortunately my free access isn’t available at the moment Jarrod Bowen: who is he, why is he attracting interest and how much would he cost? @CaulkinTheTimes has the answers https://t.co/tXnlksT7Hh— Times Sport (@TimesSport) January 20, 2019
Bowen's great form started in December - its not like he's been ignored, its hardly indefensible he hasn't been picked till now given the strength of England's wide positions at under 21 level.
Bit disappointing that as far as our goalkeeping options go, Dean Henderson is the only one getting regular first team game time
Fair enough no worries. Would have been nice if Connal Trueman was Birmingham's no 1 this season then we'd have a bit more competition for those goalkeeping places, but it is how it is.
#Rovers are delighted to announce the return of @HarryChapman101 from @Boro!More: 👉 https://t.co/YslSupCSsK pic.twitter.com/xzIZASFQSu— Blackburn Rovers (@Rovers) January 28, 2019 Blackburn clearly the team for ex youth internationals. Interesting project.
Also Blackburn: their '97 born Academy player, Lewis Travis has been playing really well as a defensive midfielder, since he's been a starter the team keeps winning.
Thanks, didn't know that. But maybe it's worth checking him out as he plays in a position not the biggest strength of the U21s. Though knowing Boothroyd he'd rather play Dowell and Onomah in a midfield pivot regardless of their forms.
Huddersfield signed Karlan Grant from Charlton. This is definitely for the Championship next season, but hopefully will play a part in a few PL matches too.
He's an intriguing one. Tore up the UEFA Youth League a few years ago, but never really kicked on. He's only just turned 21, so there's hopefully still some potential there.
Sorry, just coming back to this and connections to Wales. I actually don’t think his Dad is Welsh or if indeed he actually is able to qualify for Wales. There seemed to be some confusion about it because of Football Manager believe it or not and then having him down as English/Welsh but from what I gather and understand he doesn’t qualify for them anyway.
Oh that's good news then. I think with a name like Jarrod bowen there has to be some Welsh link there but hopefully it's a great grandparent rather then grandparent.
Speaking of English/Welsh eligibility, imagine if David Brooks and Harry Wilson had declared for us, now those would have been two very nice U21 options.
