Cohen Bramall could be a sleeper for u21 involvement. Come out of nowhere but Arsenal seemingly really like him. He looks so much better than I was expecting for a 20 yo straight from non-league. Not sure whether he'll get a loan and he might not be in the picture just yet, but one to watch over the next two years cause he is a 96.
Pretty sad news here, but it doesn't have to do with England... Abdelhak Nouri, a highly-rated Holland international whom the 97's have come up against a handful of times since 2014 suffered a cardiac arrhythmi a couple days ago. It's been revealed that he's picked up permanent, serious brain damage. He won't ever play again, and there are rumors that he may never walk or even talk again either.
Dowell was among the best players of that team in the early stages of the tournament. He ran out of steam for the last two games, but to speak of his display as a failure is a massive overstatement.
Yeah, I didn't say he was a failure but simply that I didn't think we saw anything near his best. There were some good bits early on but I personally didn't think he was one of the standouts but that's just my opinion.
His brother has said that his brain stem is damaged and he can't hear or recognise them, with no hope of recovery, so it really sounds like the person is essentially gone. It's incredibly cruel. Not that it would be any less tragic for his loved ones if he was a complete clogger, but I do remember watching him for the under-17s and he impressed as much as anyone.
I think it's fair to say, in the later games Dowell was dire. And any scouts watching couldn't have failed to be put off.
Just goes to show how life is cruel, but can be greatful and then snatch everything away in one moment. I just saw reports that he can't feel anything as well.
I have no idea what this formation is but Tomori and Clarke-Salter got a 45 minute run out together for Chelsea today: 886269163093852160 is not a valid tweet id Baker and 97 born dual English-US national Kyle Scott in there as well. The People's Champion Cauley Woodrow got 20 minutes for Fulham.
Kundai Benyu (1997) joined Celtic from Ipswich this summer. Rodgers said he was gonna find him a loan, but he'll now be kept until at least January because he is much better than anticipated. He played 60 mins v Lyon the other day. Has said in the past he'd probably favour Zimbabwe, but it's probably easier to say that before you actually have to turn down an Eng call up.
He was called up for Zimbabwe in the summer but the paperwork didn't get through in time - I think the boat has been missed on him. He is very keen to play for them, and both his parents live out there.
Patrick Roberts is going off on Man City's pre-season tour. Will be interesting to see how he does and if he gets a decent amount of opportunities.
The Telegraph say Newcastle have agreed a £12m fee for Jacob Murphy, that may have a knock on effect for their Ojo interest.
I thought maybe it's time for him to go on loan to a good team finally... It will be the same as last year with Barnsley.
He was ok for Barnsley but he didn't do anything to suggest that he was too good for that level, so perhaps it isn't surprising if better sides haven't shown an interest. Izzy Brown was given the chance to step up after a spell at Rotherham that was only partially successful, but I don't think it's that common.
He was on loan at a better team than the one Tammy Abraham was knocking in goals for. He did a lot better than someone like Chuba Akpom ever did on his many Championship loans but he didn't really force the issue. Being a bit of a short arse won't have helped him find a good loan, it gives a lot of managers reservations. Jay Dasilva has the same problem. The Bolton loan is only until January so if he improves his scoring record he may well find something better then.
A couple of League One clubs want Freddie Woodman on loan. Looks like Lee Clark wants him on loan again but this time at Bury.
If Angus Gunn can get a Championship loan Woodman should be able to get one. It's a shame League One sounds more likely.
