That's a pretty decent write up in the paper to be fair. First 35 minutes were woeful, we didn't get on the ball at all and the Germans must have had 75% possession - we were playing 4231 and the Germans were 433 with the full backs bombing on and the wide forwards very wide. This part of the report "Alfons Amade, of Hoffenheim, was the first to threaten, picking up a scooped pass over England's defence to force Ramsdale into his first of many interventions. The keeper's second was utterly brilliant, a one-handed touch while diving backwards somehow preventing Amade's looping header finding the net. England's marking from corners was slack to say the least, with centre-half Nico Schlotterbeck twice ghosting in at the near post to meet Niklas Dorsch's deliveries. The first drew a low block from Ramsdale; the second, later in the half, clipped the top of the crossbar. England apparently hadn't heeded the warning. At one point, Goller breezed past three England defenders before curing a cross back to captain Salih Ozcan, whose shot was blocked. A ferocious shot from range by Hamburg forward Manuel Wintzheimer swerved viciously in the gusty wind but Ramsdale was just about equal to it. Wintzheimer earlier fired wide at the near post." Doesn't do justice to how clearcut these chances were. The latter 2 weren't big chances but the first 5, could easily have all been scored. They were all very good chances and Germany should have been out of sight. Amade and Goller were causing Lewis and Embleton so many problems, and the English players looked absolutely lost. We then changed to a 433 - with Field sitting as the deepest of the midfielders and the wide forwards pushing up and began to have a lot more of the ball without really threatening. This continued into the second half, and the changes really made the difference - Nmecha mainly - who held the ball up well, used his body well and allowed us to come up the pitch. Nketiah was very disappointing as a lone forward - his touch was poor, and he didn't hold it up at all, he looked a different player when moved to the wide forward role and did excellently for the 2nd goal and nearly even better when he hit the post. Ramsdale was excellent in goal, as good an all round performance I've seen from an English youth keeper in some time. He made some very difficult things look easy, and was rewarded with an excellent clean sheet. Lewis and Embleton really struggled on the left and were easily dispossessed and had rings run around them, the replacement Wilmot didn't look up to the required standards or didn't get up to the speed of the game. Suliman and Chalobah both did ok, but Chalobah especially relied on physicality to make up for mistakes which is a common theme. James looked very comfortable and good at RB, was probably the best outfield starter. Field did some good, but some very clumsy things. Willock scored a good goal but was hit or miss, twice gave the ball away in really bad positions. Dozzell was quiet but passed it well. The right winger was very direct, but seemed on a different wavelength to the rest of the team. I guess that all sounds pretty negative, but we showed good character to up the tempo after the break ad get on top for a bit and take our chances.
Downes and Chalobah start live on Sky v WBA Dozzell on the bench with Bishop (‘96) and Lankester (2000)
Lankester almost equalized in the end. He looked good, also remember Bishop being a great talent 2 or 3 years ago.
Thought Chalobah did well. He has a lot of quality on the ball for a CB and playing in midfield will help his development.

Bishop has barely played since, if he can play consistently and stay fit then he'll push on quicker than anyone - but has just lost 3 seasons to injury

Premier League trio chase Ipswich star Dozzell Premier League trio Bournemouth, Brighton and Crystal Palace are all tracking fit-again Ipswich ace Andre Dozzell. The 19-year-old midfielder - valued at £5 million by the Tractor Boys - is back in action after suffering a cruciate ligament injury on the opening day of last season that ruled him out for more than a year. Dozzell was a member of the England side that won the Under-17 and Under- 19 European titles in 2016 and 2017 respectively. Ipswich, rock-bottom of the Championship and 10 points from safety, may be tempted to cash in to help fund new signings in their desperate bid to beat the drop.
Yeah, it's a strange one at ITFC at the moment - he is obviously incredibly highly rated but if we could get a good fee and he goes to a good club it may suit everyone for him to move on. Would hate to see it though.
Luke Bolton to Wycombe on loan. He looked good pre-season, seemed like Guardiola liked him, but he did not play for the seniors, still could have a good career but maybe not in City.

With all due respect to Luton but I would have thought he could get a better Club to join. Mind you, if it’s a choice of Luton being the only option then maybe he should have gone as at least he would be getting playing time and experience for the rest of the season.
Luton are flying at the moment too and look like champions-elect to me. Would have been a really good place to go and play football
He's just not being selected at the moment, played for the U23s alongside Teddy Bishop and Tristan Nydam as a midfield 3 on Monday. Bishop scored a hat trick so guess if anyone is going to push on for this weekend it will be Teddy. Ultimately we currently have 8 fit CMs (which includes youngsters Chalobah, Dozzell, Nydam, Downes plus relatively inexperienced Bishop) and he his probably 6th or 7th choice currently so that sees him not in the 18
On the flipside, the manager who took them there has just left, so Willock wouldn't really know what situation he was going into, nor whether the new manager would have faith in Willock's abilities. I can see why it might not have been a simple decision to go there.
