Diagana is in but not Maja. Got to be honest, I’ve not been impressed with Hirst when I’ve seen him play lately so not sure why Maja isn’t given a chance at this level.

For me this squad is all about.

    Trott
    James Chalobah Kelly Lewis
    Willock Field Dozzell
    D or E Nketiah Tavernier

    * D or E being Diangana or Eze

Happy with that, strong squad for u-20’s maja might well get an opportunity in future squads if he keeps on performing this season.

I would have thought Josh Dasilva would come in. I assume Edun is also injured?

Where's Tuanzebe? Not in the 20s or 21s despite performing at a higher level than most in the 20s squad recently.

He would be in the U21’s but Boothroyd seems to have his preferred CB’s and is sticking with them now.

Not too sure where we are with Maja, with Nigeria lurking in the background its hard to tell whether he would be accepting a call up or not...you'd think the FA would have been in touch though given he's clearly ahead of Embleton in his career at the moment.

Also just to note that either Marcus Edwards is injured which I don’t think he is or is just out of favour at the moment. He’s been omitted now on the last two Squads.

I imagine they feel they've seen enough of Edwards now so maybe just wanting to look at new/younger players, same with Willock. Will be interesting to see if either are in the picture for the next U21 cycle or whether they'll be passed over by those in lower age groups.

It has already started with Foden but Sancho going straight to seniors may give them hope. You can definitely see Smith-Rowe & Hudson-Odoi going sraight to u21 set-up that will have Foden, Sessegnon, Mount, Nelson already so opportunities for other 98s and 99s are starting to look slim for attackers.

RB & LB is sorted with loads of guys talented and getting senior opportunities from 98-00s.

For me it is GK, CBs, CMs & CFs most open for 98s/99s because Iam not quite sure how early they will commit to 2000s there bar maybe Gibbs-White/Panzo imo

From 98s/99s Chalobah, Kelly, Da Silva, Davies, Dozzell, J.Willock, Nketiah should be a shoe-ins for 21s in those positions.

I'm not sure my data package will stretch to that - it's a sell out too which will make positioning awkward....!

How strong is this group? I tend to look at them as one of our weaker age groups but maybe that’s a bit unfair as we have got some strong age groups at the moment.
