Yeah, I mean we might not all agree on the initial squads that get selected but once they travel out to all corners of Europe, I only think it’s fair that there is a good squad rotation tbh where everyone gets a similar amount of game time, obviously that’s not always going to happen but these kids are after all still in development stage and results isn’t the only thing that matters. Must be a bit gutting for a young lad to travel for a week or so and see others playing all games and not much for themselves.

Would have actually liked to see Poveda start today but not to be so hopefully he starts against Turkey.

I don’t think you should be getting starts just for going but time off the bench should happen. I think Vokins has played 1 competitive minute for us. Mainly to do with how Cooper used his squad at the U17 Euros.

Poveda is competing with two of our most effective options so it’s quite a challenge for him.

1-1 now. Sessegnon with our goal. 2 in 2 from full back.

    Half-time 1-1

Sounds like it’s been all us, Iceland scored with there only shot on goal where as we have had 12 so far.

Yeah that’s fair enough, I think it’s more important in the younger age groups to be honest. Think U15’s and U16’s it’s more important to spread the playing time, U19’s they’re probably more mentally stronger.

3/1. Only substition is Loader replacing Gibbs-White. Still annoyed to see a Gallagher / Harper combination in central midfield at home against Iceland, makes me think of the Denny / Gallagher pivot against China. Don't really care about the result but don't like the approach.

It’s not at home, think we’re in Turkey or Moldova aren’t we?

But yeah using only one substitute up until 86 mins is pretty poor management especially with the talent on the bench. Does the coach not trust his players?

I think Walker is a lot better than most people realise. He's got a chance.

Vokins is on in the 90th minute so should get 4 mins at least with the extra time

I don't think Gomes is in the squad.

He's not in the squad that's what I don't understand. Unless he's injured

Poveda grew up in the same ends as both of them, they're all childhood friends

With Gomes, Mason Greenwood and Garner all out.. could it be Man Utd related?

That they're not looked after properly by the United medical staff or that there's some conspiracy where the club is pulling them out?

Laird, Garner + Mengi are all 100% injured. I think it's just a coincidence that the rest are.

I wasn't suggesting anything like that. I just remember Smith Rowe missed a squad recently to train with the remaining first team members. I thought it could be something similar (in the absence of any other info.)

So CHO and a few others are benched in a game that can still see us being knocked out? Why did they start against Moldova? All a bit odd to me.

I never liked any of the starting 11 tbh. I think this 11 could win the game although not convinced by the system. 2 strikers, Kirby wide left. Unless it's loader wide left with a midfield 3 behind. CHO and Gibbs White might come off the bench to make the difference

And Turkey were the semi-final opponent at UEFA U17 last year so they're obviously competitive.
