Woodburn has been capped competitively by Wales, and scored, so he's theirs for good now.

I know, but it was curious as to why he choose them.

He's played 4x as many minutes for Wales as he has for Liverpool this season. He's really stagnating at club level at the moment but I didn't realise he was playing that much for Wales until I looked it up right now.

What the fact that he identifies himself as being Welsh?

Lack of ambition, perhaps? Taught by a grandfather to hate the country of his birth, maybe?

Still, as long as he doesn't try to blow us up, eh. It could be worse. .

He's from Chester, very little linking him to Wales.

One grandfather as far as I can tell is Welsh or at least born there.

A little (his grandfather is from there) is all you need. Do you think you should only be eligible for the country you are born in?

This discussion is had on here every 6 months. A handful of people have a weird hang up on Woodburn playing for Wales.

He's not only been born in England, he's been brought up in England, went to school in England, learnt his football at an English club, and now still lives and plays in England.

Two years ago we had a similary talented squad, but Boothroyd hurt them by making them play conservative and this new lot are more talented anyway.

I know it's odd. If we were struggling to find talent then yes it'd be annoying, but right now he wouldn't make it in our U19 group. Perhaps the squad, but not the first XI. I'm not worried at all about him being with Wales.

Hudson-Odoi is looking very confident of late and scoring some cracking goals.

He really needs a loan move imo as I'm sure it won't of gone unnoticed that his mate Sancho has played in the last two Dortmund games and looks set to be given decent playing time for the rest of the season, also Foden got game time before his injury. The reason I mention those two is because Hudson-Odoi is around the same ability as those two and just not sure what more he can learn playing reserve team football.

I'd have thought Chelsea would give him a go, soon.

So you think would someone like Embleton in the team over him?

I think he's trying so hard not to be wasteful in possession he's playing within himself a bit. I think he could take some of the fullbacks he's been up against to the cleaners if he really went for it a bit more.

Yeah, was thinking the same but the way Dortmund are currently playing isn't helping him or any of the forward players. They are so slow and predictable in there passing that it made defending pretty easy for Freiburg, there was very little quick ball to Sancho or any of the forwards to be honest. Painful to watch if your a Dortmund fan I'm sure.

  21. My pet Englishman scored a ridiculous goal.

Why do you say that? Do you think it was intended as a cross?

I think he meant it looking at his body shape as he hit the ball. Seemed to hit it with intent and power but that's just my take on it.
