Following Brewster's good strike in a dull u23 derby last night, the Sun are reporting that Borussia Dortmund are keen on him: https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/foot...ster-borussia-dortmund-juventus-jadon-sancho/
Not totally convinced that that would work out - he isn't currently on Sancho's level. Still, I guess he might get into Dortmund's B-team before he could realistically expect to be going out on loan from Liverpool.
A lovely debut for @PhilFoden. Kept the ball, got plenty of touches, played on a huge stage in the CL, felt that euphoria of a last minute winner on the pitch for the club he loves. The perfect way to ease into professional football 👌🏻 pic.twitter.com/Z7or69rzcL— Steven (@StevenMcinerney) November 22, 2017
I could see Hudson getting some first team action for Chelsea before long. But I'd leave him where he is for now (if it were down to me).
Here's a debate whether Foden should go on loan now. I'd say no. Certainly not this season. What I find most odd is that about 95% of fans online think football pundits Martin Keown and Chris Sutton shouldn't be allowed to give an opinion - because they have never managed. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...uld-Manchester-City-send-Phil-Foden-loan.html
i dont think he should go on loan. hes more then good enough, to get game time. id play him in all the cup games and give him some minutes off the bench in the league. we need to be careful how we manage him though. being a city fan, its a great feeling having a local lad come through and play for city again, the last ones we had were micheal johnson and richards, but unfortunately got bad injuries and it didnt really work out in the end.
Sounds like a full Champions League debut for Foden tonight. A smattering of first-team players in the XI but mainly the substitutes (Danilo, Bernardo etc)— Sam Lee (@SamLee) December 6, 2017
And he is playing left back! Wow! I was really looking forward to see him play but quite frankly stunned to see him at left back!
it's a nightmare position for him, never played defender and he's never been comfortable on the left. Really don't know what Pep had in mind, mesmerizing.
Yeah I noticed this also. It was also very good to see him not being afraid to yell at senior pro's like Yaya like he did tonight, just shows he has that belief that he belongs at that level. Would like to see him in a more natural position though next time.
Why play him at bloody left back, because he would not play Aguero there so way play Foden in that position, because if i was him i would be both confused and annoyed with Guardiola.
foden didnt look out of place at all. so comfortable on the ball. he made a pass in the first half split the shaktar defence in half.
90 minutes in the Champions League is great, if he has to play out of position then so be it but he'd have learned more there than he would in a dozen U23 games. It isn't always possible to bring players through in their exact positions, getting minutes is the key especially when the manager won't discard you if you struggle when out of position
In Foden's previous game he passed back so much and seemed very hesitant to try to go forward, Pep probably thought he'd find it easier further back.
OFFICIAL: Borussia Dortmund have sacked Peter BoszAnd already replaced him with Peter Stoger! #BVB https://t.co/Px2j7DjdpS pic.twitter.com/gCVbCcyO29— GOAL (@goal) December 10, 2017 Bosz has been sacked and a replacement has been hired already. Not sure what the implications are for Sancho but not sure we will see him in the first team Squad for a while if they need results to get them back on track.
Sancho should be getting game time to help win matches, not just to make up the numbers while he gets more experience.
Manchester United is delighted to announce that Angel Gomes has signed his first professional contract with the club.
foden got the last ten minutes against spurs. its brilliant to see a 17 year old... local lad getting a decent chance at city. pep really rates him. in the past they would have never have gotten a chance
