According the the Daily Mail, Bobby Duncan is joining Liverpool this summer for £200 grand and has been training with Wigan this season to maintain his fitness. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...even-Gerrards-cousin-Bobby-Duncan-Man-City.ht
I can't say I'm expecting much from the lumbering Anjorin - if he is selected for the Euros - but anything positive from him will be a welcome bonus. Hopefully he is a late developer.
Curtis Jones takes over the no.10 spot tonight in the u23 Everton derby, with Woodburn shunted out to the left wing.
Amaechi with 2 assists for Arsenal tonight in their 2nd leg. Saka on for him now off the bench. The 2nd leg of the final is on the 30th, so not much of a turnaround for the opening of the Euros on the 4th May.
Man Utd and Chelsea have the U18 league final to fit in too. Christ knows when that's gonna be, this coming weekend they're in Nyon for the UYL Finals, then the following weekend is the FAYC Final, and they're meant to finish their league calendar on May 2nd vs Arsenal in what is now a meaningless game. Playing the Final during the Euros would suit Chelsea more than United, they'd lose Anjorin and Mola vs Greenwood, Laird and Garner, but I'm not sure there's a realistic alternative, unless it's AFTER the Euros and played in very late May.
Arsenal U23s also have the International Premier League cup final to play on the 8th of May v Porto. John-Jules + Amaechi started in the semi-final. Saka + Coyle are presumably in and around the squad too. If Willock, Nelson + Nketiah are kept around the seniors, they'll be very short too. It's actually a bit of a nightmare isn't it. You'd suspect they'd want the group together for at least a week before the tournament.
So what's the likely scenario here? Are we looking at quite a few withdrawals from the England Squad or will that likely get prioritised over the Clubs but I guess it's up to the Clubs ultimately what they decide?
England U17 Player minutes in the PL (2000 born) Callum Hudson-Odoi - Chelsea - 27 Rakeem Harper - West Brom - 20 Phil Foden - Manchester City - 17
this tournament is creeping up on us really fast, do we think the squad might be announced early next week?
Arsenal risk losing one of their very best young prospects - and potential England keeper of the future https://t.co/wz2USotyn2— John Cross (@johncrossmirror) April 22, 2018
Not to denigrate a young player with a long, long time to develop his game, but he's appeared rather error-prone in the few instances I've seen.
Some whispers that the U18 league final is May 5th, but they're unconfirmed. If that's the case England play on the 4th and 7th; could get away without the guys involved in it for the Israel game on paper, but you'd want them back for the Monday game for sure. Tricky.
Curtis Jones was sat behind the Liverpool bench tonight with Gomez + Brewster. I wonder if they're gonna be a bit fluid with this squad because it's in England and they'll get some players in this week and then the rest when they're available. A little bit worrying that Jones, Greenwood, Amaechi, Saka etc haven't met up with the squad yet.
Yeah this is all very difficult. Got a small group at SGP at the moment. Appiah Binks Crowe Daly Dixon-Bonner Doyle Duncan Garner Laird Sibley Tulloch Still to be confirmed from Alese Ashby-Hammond Dewhurst Nolan Perry Arsenal Okonkwo Daley-Campbell Amaechi John-Jules Coyle Saka Liverpool Jones Chelsea Mola Anjorin Man Utd Greenwood
This was just a mini meet up. The players have now returned to their clubs/home and the squad will he announced tomorrow.
Keke Simmonds was there also, which is arguably deserved after his season. Hasn't been involved since u15 level.
