The CMs and to a lesser extent the CBs probably have a slight advantage over the attacking players in that those are the positions that the '99s have less depth in. I wouldn't rule out McEachran either, on that basis.
Based on Portugal's u16 results earlier in the year, they seem a strong side (including draws with strong nations) but lost at home in Feb to Germany, 4-0 at home. .
How in the hell did he score that? Just seen the newer, better clip. It's a brilliant, pin-point strike that somehow hit the inside of the post. That's just about an impossible angle.
It's funny how we're all rating Brewster when several thought he was average even during the group stage of the World Cup.
It's not that funny. Barry put Brewster only eighth in his list of u17s that might be considered to be moved up to the u19s with Sancho (who has already moved up). I suspect that was based more on the three goals he scored in each of the semi final and final matches, rather than basing it on his "average performances" in the early rounds of that particular competition. Others will have been also viewing him partly on performances well before the tournament even started.
I seem to remember that the forum was split on his performances even before he started scoring. My view was that he was playing well and creating plenty, but that we couldn't afford for him to miss so many easy chances. Turned out we could...
My view was that he always puts himself in good opportunities and has really good games, but is error prone.

49 minutes gone and Clinton Mola of Chelsea confidently smashes home an equaliser for the Young Lions, England U17s 1 - Russia U17s. England full of energy and comfortably on top now.— Sam Gascoyne (@SamGascoyne) November 11, 2017
GOAL! England U17s now lead Russia U17 2-1 after Manchester United's Mason Greenwood scored an absolute peach of a goal from the edge of the box. 57 minutes gone.— Sam Gascoyne (@SamGascoyne) November 11, 2017
Full time here at the Pirelli Stadium, England have won 2-1 thanks for second half goals from Chelsea's Clinton Mola and Manchester United's Mason Greenwood. Great second half fight back from the Young Lions.— Sam Gascoyne (@SamGascoyne) November 11, 2017
Missed it at the time but Russia had a player sent off in the first half. Another game when our opponents have played the second half with 10 men. Someone at the game highlighting England's best performers - England's stand out player for me was undoubtedly Reading forward Jack Nolan, he was fantastic. England U17 captain Liverpool's Curtis Jones also looked decent, as did Manchester United's Mason Greenwood.— Sam Gascoyne (@SamGascoyne) November 11, 2017
Final score 2-1 England. I hadn't seen Barry's post above when I wrote this: I had connection problems but heard most of the second half. They had Sibley as a clear MoM - and seemed impressed by how he could niggle the opposition with his "street smart ploys". Other notable mentions went to Dixon-Bonner, Nolan and Campbell. And some to Greenwood and Jones (second half). I imagine they could knock up a decent side from this squad, but as one would gather there's still a way to go for them before the finals.
Duncan's been doing some indirect tweets toward City on twitter lately. Some of them deleted. I'd consider the relationship between them broken and starting to look like Duncan will be in limbo until the summer when Liverpool's academy ban expires.

What an unfortunate night to play this match - the same evening as England seniors playing Brazil live on ITV. I'll be curious to see tonight's staring eleven.
May be a stream for this : https://www.sofascore.com/amp/germany-u17-england-u17/Zbjsfcj At least that is what Bobby Duncan seems to think. But got doubts.

Hopefully the Jones injury is not too serious. Seemingly he was our most dangerous player for the first 20 minutes - a real threat. Going off put us back. Very encouraging stuff it would seem. Greenwood MoM, with Garner and Doyle getting notable mentions in midfield as well. A good effort all round it would seem.
3 wins out of 3 against decent opposition. Not bad for the group. You also feel defensive depth will improve by the time next year comes around.
