I think he's just playing up mate, from what I can see he's got many photos with the mcfc u15's post-game etc..

Yeah you're right, that's probably why, because he's born in a certain period of 2001.

Exactly. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the current under-15s at club-level have to have been born on or after 1 Sep 2001, whereas the international under-15s were born on or after 1 Jan 2002. That leaves four birth-months (Sep-Dec 2001) where a player can be a club under-15 and an international under-16 while playing in his natural age group.

That's correct, and it's the case with Doyle, who was born Oct 17th 2001.

It might be a good time to point out to newcomers that one shouldn't refer to a player as say, an u16, when he is in fact an u17 at international level - as this forum is essentially about international football.

Saka and Anjorin (from this squad) also fall into that category, as does the previously called-up Bali Mumba.

Don't be. It's not a rule, it just makes more sense to use the international criteria when we're talking about the international sides. In the "Professional Development Leagues" thread, it's often the other way around.

In any case, there's no major confusion. Just join in and enjoy yourself.

Celtic's Dembele apparently starred in Scotland's 1-0 win against Croatia. Do we know if he is likely to settle on England, or not?

He's 14, he probably doesn't even know himself, and nor should he really.

I don't see why he shouldn't. It's not like he is expected to vote on Scottish independence.

Oh Gawd, the sad and bitter Spurs fan has crawled out from under his stone. You total waste of space.

It's not difficult to know at 14 which country you want to play for - assuming he is good enough to make it. But I'm well aware the advice they are given is usually to keep the options open. I take it then no one has a view on my question: do you think he is likely to settle on England, or not?
