Noah Ohio going to Ajax apparently. Would make sense I suppose seeing as they've just lost Hoogewerf.
Delighted to be starting this season as @WatfordFC u23s Assistant coach and @England u16s.Looking forward to it all 👊👊— Omer Riza (@Oriza8Riza) June 4, 2019
New u16 group First of all a training camp. 25-28 July . Then SGP tournament. 14-22 Aug. So looks like 2 different squads. Jay-Jay Bristol Thompson Luke Hewitson Kian Pennant Stefan Parkes Isaac Mabaya Dane Scarlett Mo Ali Cho
Think he’s selected for July camp. Great achievement for all lads selected for any camp or tournament. Extremely lucky if you’re born jan-aug as you’ll always be favoured for selection since majority of those lads are more physically developed with them playing a year group older with their club than those born sept-dec. Otherwise you’ve basically got to built like a man by the time you’re 14 to get a sniff in the england set up at youth level. Not the be all and end all for those lads not selected at this age group. In fact late developers physically tend to end up having the better careers (not including obvious exceptional talents). Football at this age isn’t a level playing field until the lads are fully matured at 17-21 years old. Does anybody know at what age Phil Foden made his england youth debut, camp or squad selection? Him being a May birthday too so one of the older lads of his age group internationally but youngest with his club.
They both finished last season in the 18s so they're doing well. McAtee signed his scholarship this week; McNeill is 9 days too young to sign this year but he'll play up a lot anyway next season because he'll be 16 early on.
Oakley Cannonier, despite his own club's website getting his name wrong, scored for Liverpool 18s in their first pre-season game. https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/academy/355948-cain-nets-a-double-as-u18s-win-burton-friendly
Exeter's Ben Chrisene was on trial at Liverpool and Fulham last season. Involved with Exeter seniors in pre-season.
Good news for me to have a shadow squad. They clearly believe in what they have picked but always nice to have someone ready to step in who has been part of the set-up/culture. A lot of things can change down the line. Looking forward to our first meet up of the season with @England u16s camp, @JustinCochrane8 @tomc736_tom, 👊⚽️— Omer Riza (@Oriza8Riza) July 25, 2019
Yep course it is. And yep things will change, new players will come in when physically developed etc. I don’t think even Phil Foden went to an england camp at u15? I’m sure his first call up was the October games of u16’s.
Pitches looking nice today ready for the England @FA u16 training camp for 4 days, the lads have done a great job @PeterJFowkes @LboroSport @lborouniversity pic.twitter.com/z1pyqjA06M— Kris Nurse (@goals99) July 25, 2019 **NEW OPPORTUNITY** I am very grateful to be starting my new job with the FA on The FA Elite Coach Menteeship Programme.
