False. Lars Ricken has said they believe he’s the age he claims to be. Would take his word as academy director, over that of an u23 coach at the club (who’s statement you generalised as being the club as a whole), who has probably never worked with him.
I'd expect the academy director to give the smart PR answer and the U23 coach to be more reckless with his tongue. It's an incredibly interesting case. Whether he's older or not. A completely unique situation, which nobody has any idea how to handle. That's why it fascinates me. I get that you disagree, but I think the way he's been held in the U17s + taken out of international consideration is pretty telling.
according to TM he has an older brother. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/borel-moukoko/profil/spieler/601587 it's not as telling because Germany rarely has players playing up age groups anyways. but what's weird about the story is that his mom is currently only 30......His dad says he registered him at the Germany embassy in Cameroon right after his birth. Unless one thinks that his dad predicted that 12+ years later he would be playing football in Germany. It's a complicated case to be sure. the German FA have verified the authenticity of the papers too.
So you're 100% on him being 14? Do you think he's the best 12/13 year old we've seen in World football then?
I'm not sure about anything, that's always were iffiness comes from when players aren't born in Europe. Nothing against players who are born outside just, question marks always pop up. I've lots of people claim that France has plenty of age frauds too. only time will tell what's the truth but for now documentations does back Moukoko, it was verified by dfb but of course that's not everything.
It's also not usually their intention to pull a fast one in terms of football. Usually just to give their kids the full educational experience in a new country so they don't get left behind. Can't blame parents for doing it.
Finley Burns starting for City's U18s today. Noah Ohio also involved, Luke Mbete on the bench. Then U17 Mcatee starting, 04 Gyabi on the bench. Another Oduroh on the bench, but I don't know much about him.
Good job from the fa getting involved in this. No-one in my house complaining about ditching the victory shield . Bring it!
I'm guessing Chibueze or Boyce-Clarke as the other goalkeeper. As I recall from previous years, Montaigu is generally as strong as possible. Of those not already confirmed by yourself and Juni, I'm assuming at least some of Colwill, Patino, Musiala, Nile John, Diallo & Karamoko will be there. Bellingham also unless his club keep him. Aside from Colwill, Norris & maybe Kenneh, are there any defensive players who stand out? Btw I'm hoping they'll still put some of the games on Youtube like in past editions.
I believe they're meeting and training at Chelsea pre-tournament so I'll try to find out bits and pieces. Simons, Musiala and Iling made their U18s debuts today; technically the first two played last season but that was in an all-U15 game so hardly counted.
I think we have a good chance. He was born and raised here, and it seems that he grew up supporting England over Ireland. His Irish connection is just through a couple of grandparents.
