I find him too predictable, Pendlebury. Once he gets on the ball, you half know what he's looking to do. Send it to the wings. It's never really progressive passing, it's all the same types of passing. That's after watching him for both England and Reading. He needs to add variety in his passing, which is clearly seen as his biggest asset. If England want a proper defensive midfielder, they should look to Malachi Talent at Reading. Been part of camps, 02 born and played u18 football in pre season
There are two of them, the one you'll recognise will be the Ipswich forward (brother of Chelsea Charlie, Spurs borrowed him over the summer), but since he played vs your U18s on Saturday there's a good chance this one is West Brom's Zak Brown.
Anyone there to watch them? If you were, any thoughts on the match... Some more names: Fabio Carvalho (to replace an injured Cole Palmer) and a lad from West Ham - Josh Roach and I think a guy called Josh Prince-Brooking...
I thought defended well with a good shape, Moulden gives defence confidence, Harwood-Bellis very composed, Brooking misplaced pass at end lead to Turkey goal but up until then faultless, Hodge is deceptive in that he doesn't look like an athlete but so hard working and important for the team, captains performance from Musah
Great work on getting the team sheet up. Musah has always impressed me playing for England, really impressive midfield general.
Any idea if it's Ipswich's Zak Brown or not btw? Since Wood-Gordon also played for Boro on Sat and then in this one it might well be him, particularly given how highly he's rated.
That's where I thought he wasn't good enough vs Scotland and Russia, when I compare him to the TOB Kirby even McEachran who are all good at evading pressure and create space for themselves in the middle. Happy to be proved wrong though
The obvious one you're looking for is Ben Elliot; like G McEachran, TOB, and Kirby he's played a lot as a 10 at the lower age groups, but has all the attributes of a deep lying midfielder. In this vid he's thirteen and a half in the first clip and fourteen and a half in the second.
How did seb Thompson play when he came on? What position did he played? Remember reading an article a few years ago when he moved to Liverpool.
he's excellent indeed. just watched a good part of the slovenia game and this is the most impressive performance I've seen from this age group. Genuine technical domination from start to finish
After four years at the FA, we understand Dan Micciche has left his position as #ENGU16 coach. A replacement has yet to be appointed.— youthhawk (@youthhawk) September 3, 2017 Big blow! Wonder why he's left?
