We need as many players as we can get playing first team football. Someone like Delph should be next to move and get playing. Considering our recent squad options a decent move can open up a squad place for quite a few options.

Hart will look better this season than when he was at Man City. More opportunities to be in the highlights.

Not sure if there is a more West Ham type player than Hart.

I can see a strong case for Butland if he comes back well from his injury, but if Hart were to be out of favour due to poor form then surely the same ought to apply to Forster - he hasn't had a good year either. I still think it's too early to be throwing our support behind anyone as first-choice when those three and Pickford all have something to prove. Heaton probably isn't in the conversation as anything more than a back-up.

True, Pickford could be number one at the euros if he continues to improve

After harts last couple of seasons and awful euros, I would prefer him not to be involved again unless he suddenly improves (how likely at his age?)

Been a supporter for Pickford since the tail end of the season to get the 1 spot. Butland will be behind him and then Hart I guess. Pretty soon Gunn and Woodman will be vying for a place in the seniors.

I must say our options has improved immensely.

I sort of did... There really aren't too many options if they want to increase their HG numbers, and yes I could see Conte wanting to play him in Moses's role. For all that he did well last season, Moses must be one of the most vulnerable members of Chelsea's team, so I don't think the move would be a waste of time on AOC's part - he might manage to nail down the place. That is, provided that he's happy not to pick and choose where he plays.

Anyone read Mister by Rory Smith?

Very interesting. At times when I am reading I have to check what decade is being referred to, same issues.

From reading the description it sounds a bit like Jonathan Wilson's inverting the pyramid but more focused on English coaches? I might get it at some point.

Sort of. Talks about the coaches going abroad and how their methods weren't necessarily appreciated or valued at home.

Kind of "Why do we have these innovative coaches but the English game hasn't evolved"

I gave up on that Wilson book - Was doing my head in.

The understandably forgotten Danny Welbeck has never looked quicker than today against Sevilla. Sadly his finishing doesn't seem to be getting any better though. He totally outpaced a defender to put him in a great position to score and then gave the ball the most embarrassingly pathetic poke with his right foot, when the situation was crying out for him to crack it with his left.
The ball went harmlessly wide of the goal. Not a word of criticism or questioning as to why he did it, was uttered.

We could use a player like Welbeck though. It's been over a year since he last played for England and he usually finds the back of the net.

It will probably mean he stops playing so then can't start. If we can get Livermore to Man Utd we might be getting somewhere.

O/T but why is John Terry at AV? I remember reading he didn't wanna play against Chelsea. But I'm surprised he didn't opt to go abroad. Or maybe sign for a bigger $$$ club in the Championship.
