sorry to bring back this old thread but does anyone have any updates on this kid? I know his grandpa is now the head coach of fc dallas. Anyone know how is trial went?
at least not yet, he has to 15 to sign with a premier league club. at least he's still working. a few years from now he's going to be good.
I hope he doesn't get US soccer coaching rot...(young technical gifted players turning into 'athletes')
Sounds like he has the technical package, just needs the growth spurt to become the ultimate package. And his grandfather is part of that US soccer coaching so either you aren't a fan of SMU, FC Dallas or the kid is screwed already.
Halfway through the article, I was like "this kid needs to start training with FCD now" and low and behold, Granddad has him there. Thats awesome. He'll be fine. Spain's whole midfield was 5' 7"
http://www.3rddegree.net/2008/09/practice-observations-from-russia-with-love/ " Schellas’ 12 year old grandson, Emerson Hyndman, worked out with the team today, taking rotations in the drills. It’s shocking, both that a 12 year old can handle MLS drills and that Schellas would have a 12 year old in the drills. I’m not sure what to think frankly. Emerson just got back from a second trial with Newcastle. He also has a trial with Liverpool coming up and one with Benfica. He’s also got an agent and just signed a Nike deal. Emerson also was just named into the US U14 National team. Through Schellas they are trying to get him a Portuguese passport which would make him EU eligible. "
Well it's a relief that he's in the US setup as it has been aforementioned that he may be eligible for Portugal! Thanks for the info!
http://www.3rddegree.net/2008/11/practice-observations-the-law/ "...Emerson Hyndman is back, he’s been in Liverpool with his family for eight days, Liverpool want him to come back soon. Might be a fight between Liverpool and Newcastle over who gets him."
Wow 12 years old and already has a Nike contract, that beats Walcott who got one at 14. He sounds like he is doing great. I read an article a while ago where it said he goes to some special school in Dallas, its really flexible which is obvisouly good with all the traveling he does.
Obviously not now. Spain's midfield was 5' 7" when they were younger. It's actually true of most midfields in the world.
I think the original post was just referring to the fact that many of Spain's best midfielders are small. Xavi - 5'7", Iniesta - 5'7", David Silva - 5'7", Santi Cazorla - 5'6".
yea... I dont think he was wrong at all... outside of Senna, Spain's starting midfield were midgets... and Senna is only like 5'9"
Rumor: Emerson Hyndman (11yrs) to England? http://www.dallassoccernews.com/article.php?article_id=1279 Grandson of Schnellas Hyndman, attracting interest from English clubs. Oh yeah, he's 11 years old.
Re: Rumor: Emerson Hyndman (11yrs) to England? more importantly this kid may turn out to be the real deal. His career appears to be closely monitored by people who know what they are doing.
